Background info: got my car used.. Not sure what clutch is installed.. but is STIFF!. also i think the throw-out bearing is bad... Anyway.

Gonna buy a new clutch kit this winter.. Recommendations for an OEM "style" clutch. (no track days)

Was looking at the basic Exedy Kit. for roughly $400... Thoughts? Dont want the cheapest thing on the market.. just good quality at a good price.

Any good local mechanics or shops that you guys had good experiences with? :ponder:

TIA

GT Motoring (sponser on here) is having a sale on competition stage 2 clutches for 400 shipped. You'll have to pay $95 through them for an OEM honda bearing or buy one direct from the dealer. I've not read one bad review on the stage 2 clutch yet and is the one I'm going with. Everyone claims it's pedal effort is the same if not just a hair over what stock is.

This is what I bought and installed in my car and I LOVE it! Comes with OEM bearings, so you've got everything you need right out of the box. Also, call them, and they should be able to come down on the price a little bit. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and clutch setup. If you want, you can test drive mine and see how you like it.

I could also do the install for you if you needed. I did mine back in Charleston. Still going strong after 25K miles.

Why does it say for the 2000-2003? I though clutches for the S2000 were universal?

Some sites you hit up for most any clutch for the S2000 still split ap1 and ap2's. If you look after that it has the 2.0/2.2 correctly advertised. I'm surprised you haven't noticed that on other sites. They are all the same like you're thinking! :)

Yeah, I know they are, it's just weird. I don't really go shopping for clutches all too often, so I guess I haven't really noticed

I have been here lately but I've noticed it on a lot of other parts that do that too.

Ah well.. The moral is that they are both good clutches, the CC has a bit more support as far as the community is concerned.

I got my disc yesterday and I wanted to install it this monday, but I think I will wait so I'm not in a rush. My stage 3 will bet good for the dragon anyway. Just no laughing if I kill it at a stop sign. :)

Mine will be after thanksgiving I imagine. Family coming for the first time for thanksgiving so the weekend before is prep time. I'm planning on running up to Fort Campbell and using a lift after that. Either that or buy a dewalt impact 18v.
