So I currently have a set of Toyo Proxies4 on the S (Came w/ these from the previous owner) and they have probably 30-40% tread. I want to replace and was thinking about getting some Potenzas. With winter coming up, I was curious what others thought about replacing these tires now or if I should wait till spring? Essentially its a 30-40% tread all season tire vs a new summer tire.

Also, recommendation on tires? Anyone running different sizes on stock rims?

*Edit Stock AP2 rims

I would run the all seasons for as long as I could. If you're going with a RE760, they do decent in the snow and bad weather and handle great (drove on the dragon with them and Matt daily drives on his).

Mine had potenzas when i bought it... it had UNREAL grip. but might only get 10k out of set (pending drive style)

I would stick with all season as long a possible. and get new in spring.

:iagree:

Just dont do a F225/R245 setup....my car is so unbalanced right now. Its not nearly as fun to drive. I just put spacers on and its better, but just spend the little bit more and get the 255/40/17!!

I have Continental ExtremeContact DWS (215/245) for my winter tire - love them in inclement weather and pretty good grip on cold (under 40F) roads. Got me home during that 2" ice storm last year.

For summer, I chose Hankook Ventus v12 k110s (225/255). I love them for the price but they left a little that I desired - not the most progressive or communicative tire. Need 36psi to feel planted.

I'll probably go to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s (if they are still available) or Continental ExtremeContact DW next year.

I'd stick on All-seasons until the weather is constantly above 50F. Summer tires lose a lot of grip quickly as temperatures decrease.

Edit: Also remember that the stock tires on the S were oversized so it's more important to look at tread width than actual cm width and keep the same % stagger front to rear unless you want more oversteer or understeer

I'm going from the Continentals Extreme Contact DWS to the Hankook Ventus V12 Evos. The Continentals rears lasted me an AMAZING 20k miles. Best All-Season Tires I've had on the S2000 so far. I usually get 12-15 miles out of some rear tires.

I'm looking forward to the Hankooks.

Watch out, those Hankooks have a LONG break in period; 500-750 miles. They really didn't start feeling good for about 2500 miles for me. Of course, roads were at better temps then too so YMMV.

Get some bridgestone blizzaks.. :) Not that the roads here are that icy, but when it ice's ppl get seriously..... stupid and you may need to take evasive action. Best to have cornering traction on the ice.
