Yea we def could do it twice, but I don't want to overdo that drive. Once you drive HWY 666, you will not care about yarnell hill or hwy 88

It used to be late in the year (November/December) when it first started.
I would like to do Oak Creek Canyon (I think that's what it's called) from Sedona to Flagstaff someday as well as Devil's Highway.

It is not too early to start planning for next year. I've been hoping to see something like this with this group and maybe a few more trips in, too. I've already plans for many dates next year, so I'm eager to see some firm dates get scheduled as soon as possible.
Where would the January Casino Night be held and is it a run/drive? I'm already booked that Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
July or August would be a good time to get to hopefully cooler climates like Payson. Could the Fall Devil Run also be considered for September? Maybe we could fit in a trip south of Tucson to catch folks down there, too.

Location is TBD, but I think last years location will work again so that Tuscon owners can come. Its right off the I10 in Chandler. I am thinking just a Saturday into Saturday evening event. No drive, unless you join a caravan to the meet. This is just a meet at a Casino, hangout, get some food, maybe gamble. We will need to start planning this soon, so if the dates I just picked don't work for the majority, then we will change them.
We can have lots more events, but I am hesitant to post too many ideas because I know we wont get enough volunteers to organize. I have probably extended myself too far in trying to organize 2 Devil Drives and a Prescott drive next year. I figure that since I have already organized both, I know and have everything I need to do it again so it should be easier.
We are already on the books for the first weekend of October for the Fall Devil Run. I had our group penciled in the Lodges reservation book when I checked out.

Any idea when F1 tickets go on sale? I would imagine they will sell quickly. Signed up for "priority" list, whatever that means:

There used to be more official planning back in the day. Those members have since moved on so I am working, with hopefully the help of others to restore some of that to our Arizona Chapter. We have a structure that we have been following for the past 2 years, but it was never laid out officially. We all knew that in the spring we did Prescott, and every couple months on Wednesdays we did a HWY 88 run. It is my intention to make things more organized and structured though. We have a lot of new members that aren't as clued in as the older members. I started this structuring with the Monday Night Meet Calenders.
There will be plenty of drives, but you have to realize the amount of work that goes into organizing. It takes a lot of "free time" to post on the forums, plan the trip, lay it all out, and be the point of contact for the event. Not to mention when the event is under way having an entire group looking to you for all the answers/plans. This is part of why we have weekly meets to keep the group together because its just not easy to have big events all year long. The AZ community does a lot of things together, they just aren't all laid out and "official".
The reasoning behind the casino meet is its a great opportunity for people to get together and hangout. We get to include people from Prescott down to Yuma. After being a member for a few years out here, and going to HCII and other larger events, one thing that we have all taken away is how much we enjoy hanging out. A lot of us have things in common that extend beyond driving the same car. Meets like the New Years meet are opportunities for us to just hangout and be friends. Its not always about driving, its more than that now.
You mentioned no hot rodding. You might not enjoy most of our group drives then
