As seen in our 2012 Build thread we had great trouble finding a suitable seat to fit our S2000, mainly due to the roll cage not allowing us to fit the Revolution seat we were initially given.

Corbeau have responded to this by visiting our factory, taking the neccessary measurements, and designing and making a new mould, specifically for fitment to the S2000.

Its based on the Revolution seat but has been completely re-moulded so it doesnt have the 'wings' at the top which were fouling on the b pillar of our roll cage.

EDITED to say - We are currently working with members to confirm if this seat will fit OEM cars with full road trim..

As an added touch, Corbeau branded it for us and coloured it to match the car. Top top job

This can be done on request and pricing is subject to what extra logos/colours you want on the seat.

The S2Ki price for this seat, in standard black colour fabric and mould is £450.00. Any special colours/logos need to be seperately quoted but are all possible and dont affect the cost that much.

Just out of interest, are they bottom mount? (looks like it) and what rails can people use.

Nice work getting a seat to fit the S2000!

How wide is it?

If it is the seat pictured, unless it is VERY narrow, it won't fit in a standard S2000 with interior.

They are side mount though Mark.

I'll post up and show the measurements tomorrow. We specifically picked this seat as its got the narrowest base and the sides dont bow out like most seats, they are the same width all the way across the lower part of the seat.

And yes they are side mounted, I'll post up some pics of the mounts tomorrow too.

I reckon if you can get someone to come in with a standard S, fit the seats and post up, these could become a popular option.

But showing they fit a standard car will be key.

Ok sounds like a plan - Could you measure the overall width of the OEM seat from the edges of the bolsters, and also at the base/of the runners? This will at least show us what room there is to play with.

i would be careful fitting side mounted seats in a road car as generally they dont use runners and as far as i am aware new 2012 MOT regulations next year state that seats must move forwards and backwards freely,

prob worth checking with a MOT inspector first as im not 100% sure about this

Is there any update to this - have they now been fitted to a standard car and is there a package deal for 2 seats and all runners/hardware? Would need to see if my fat arse would fit too :faint: .

Nobody has furnished us with the measurements I asked for above so cant confirm how they compare to standard seats. The total width of the standard seat is the important bit. All this said I'll post up some measurements of the Corbeau seat later as well.

Surely you want a stadard car to turn up, to test fit the seats? I don't think anyone will buy based on measurements. You've said they will 100% fit an S2000, but most people (myself included) have found issues fitting seats and rails to an S200. If you can show this seat fitted in a standard S, it would sell very well I think. Just trying to help here from a customer perspective.

I can go and measure my standard seats if you like but as I said, people want to see them fitted to the rails, fully sliding, centre box lid able to be opened, and not hitting the interior...

If you send me 2 seats and rails, I'll be more than happy to fit them and take some pics. If they fit OK and look good, I'll even pay for them. :D

No offence, but YOU are going to be profiting from selling these so it should be YOU doing the work and not EXPECTING customers to comply.

I'll put it to you like this and for the help of everyone on the board:

If they are based on the Pro seat (Which I think they are) they WILL NOT FIT a standard S2000.

Dont expect to sell many if any of these seats, and was purely posting it up following interest from people with std S2000's. Not 'expecting' anyone to 'comply' either, two people actually offered to do some groundwork into confirming if they will fit and then didnt follow it through. Thats definately not us EXPECTING customers to comply! We simply post things like this up if the build thread or messages from it suggests there is a genuine interest in them, not on here to trade anything we can get our hands on for the sake of all out profit.....

The only part of the seat based on the pro series is the back/top section. The base is based on a Revolution seat, assuming you havent seen or read the background on this seat, it has basically resulted in a completely new mould following the MD of Corbeau personally visiting HEL to look at the issues with fitting an aftermarket seat in the S2000. And ours has a fat cage all round it.

To clear up those thoughts of bringing the car to us, great idea but we make brakelines ultimately and as such we arent a garage and dont really have the time or facilities to carry out this job, AND the seats are unfortunately made to order, so would be an expensive exercise for us even if we were to try doing this for someone.

With this in mind, at this stage I would say its the right thing to say this seat is suitable for S2000 track cars like ours, until we can confirm otherwise in regards to road/full road trim cars.

Rather aggresive, don't you think?

I'm assuming HEL don't have a spare standard S2000 lying around, so are asking the (usually friendly) bunch on here to help them out. Is that really that big a deal to you? :ponder:
2002 MCB S2000 (Current)
1993 Britany Blue Green Metallic Prelude 2.3i 4WS
1989 Black/Blue (never knew what colour it really was, dark blue!) Prelude 2.0i 4WS

Mods: Grooved and drilled front discs, grooved rear discs, EBC Red Stuff pads front and rear, gunmetal OEM wheels (bought from Floppy), gunmetal side badges, Falken FK-452 tyres (rear), Sony DSX-300BTX, replacement mohair roof.

To be fitted... AEM V2, gunmetal front and rear badges, red painted calipers.

Potential future mods: Iridium spark plugs, black and red OEM seats, coilovers, polybushes, smoked sidemarkers, Seibon TA lip, Civic EK foglights, Zunsport black bumper grille, Phantom Overdrive spoiler, Skunk2 gearknob.

I think he has a point, if strongly put. It's great that HEL are advertising seats, and i'd love to think they fit. But when you sell something it's upon you to esnure it works / fits. I will take my BC seat and OEM dimensions later, if that helps...

PS - it takes less than 10 mins to remove an OEM seat and if the replacement one fits well (not like BC!) then 20 mins to replace.

Apologies for over-reacting on HELs behalf, I'm blaming that on the fact I've only had 2 hours sleep
