hate to say it, but since felipe's accident at hungaroring he hasn't been the same...could be because the car wasn't that great this year idk...but that being said time for ferrari to drop him and get some fresh talent.....
Who do you think would be a good candidate for replacing Felipe? Ferrari would want someone that is willing to be a second driver to Alonso. I personally think if not RK, as he and Alonso are good friends, it has to be someone new or someone from one of the midfield or back marker teams - maybe a Sutil or a Kovalainen.
I think Ferrari have their eyes on a young drivers. Perez is probably on the shortlist as well as Jules Bianchi. I think also Kobayashi may have a long shot since Sauber and Ferrari have a good relationship and Kobayashi would bring a lot of money through sponsorship. Robert won't be back until 2013 and much like Massa he won't be the same.

FIA confirms 20 race 2012 calendar - of course there is no saying whether the race in Bahrain will happen
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/96675

and it looks like Texas is back on track for next season
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/96681

Ecclestone gave organisers an extended deadline after failing to meet the original one. After the race was included in the final 2012 calendar released by the FIA, Austin officials said work on the track will resume right away, and they are confident it will be ready for the grand prix.

"Mr. Ecclestone received his check today. We want to thank the fans supporting us, the local officials and businesses that have encouraged us, the State of Texas, Circuit of The Americas' staff and Bernie himself," said founding partner Red McCombs.

"I want to thank and commend Bobby Epstein for getting us across the finish line. Bobby's perseverance and leadership kept the project on track despite unfair and unfounded criticism.

"Our investors have believed all along that this project has tremendous benefit for our region, and provides a strong economic engine for the future," stated Epstein, founding partner of Circuit of The Americas.

"We remain committed to reaching our goal of being valuable community partners as we establish a platform for sports and entertainment. We're glad that Tavo's vision of bringing F1 to the people of Texas will become a reality."

this from joe saward's blog sums up the current fota issue.

Meanwhile in London the Formula One Teams Association (or the survivors at least) got together to try to figure out how to lure Ferrari and Red Bull Racing back into the fold before February when they will officially leave the organisation. FOTA seems to understand that a union of the teams is essential if there is to be any real progress in winning a bigger share of the revenues of the sport – which is the fastest way to increase team budgets, rather than trying to penny-pinch savings with the Resources Restriction Agreement. The big teams, however, want expensive things like testing and fewer restrictions on what they can and cannot spend their money on.

Ferrari and, to a lesser extent, Red Bull Racing say that they want to keep costs down, but they want to do it their way…

about new rules
don't like this, "Drivers may no longer move back onto the racing line having moved off it to defend a position."

like this,"Before the safety car returns to the pits all lapped cars will be allowed to unlap themselves and then join the back of the pack, ensuring a clean re-start without slower cars impeding those racing for the leading positions."

^ I just saw that too. Looks like Vitaly is out for next season and I doubt he will be able to secure a drive elsewhere. Here is a link to the Autosport article

I agree, I don't like this rule either. My guess is that we will see lots of controversy over this.
