I bought the izze-engineering simulation air pump the other day. I pulled out the air pump and everything now I'm getting the P1415 code. It's wired up right and double checked it. My battery is weak could this be a factor?

EDIT:

If you connect the white simulator wire to the wrong side of the white/black oem wire (ECM plug 31P, #24), you'll throw a P1415 code. The white simulator wire must only attach to the side of the white/black oem wire going into the ECM. An example of this is shown in Page 4 of the instructions.

Keep me posted,

Everything is wired in right but still throwing the code. As soon as I clear it , it comes right back on instantly

Is the battery charged? Voltage reading? Does the code come on when you have the keys in the Run (II) position and with the engine off?
Theoretically a very low battery voltage could trigger a P1415 code.

It is a little weak my scan gauge reads bout 11 volts so it could be that. It come on car running or not. I will continue to charge the bat. But doesnt help it's been sitting for a few months

"jump" the car with cables or swap in a good battery, then see if the CEL comes on. 11V is a little low.

If you can, check the small gauge oem white wire (large gray plug) with a voltmeter. It should read battery voltage.
If you don't have a voltmeter, check to see if the trunk popper button works (in the glove compartment), the simulator feeds off the poppers constant 12V.
The fact that the CEL comes on right away tells me it's either not getting the correct amount of voltage it needs, the ground is bad, or the white wire isn't hooked up correctly (you already checked this).

double and tripple check your wiring. This is a low voltage code for the air pump ELD unit, most likely caused by an improperly wired izzy kit.

Hi guys! I just dropped my car off at the detailer and when I picked my car up it ran this code! AHHHHH. >.<

What should I check? I am running an IZZE Engineering kit, but I have been running it for a few months without issue. I didn't even pull out my air pump. I just used the kit to pass emissions.

In 10 years of working on this car, I have never seen this code on an S2000.

It is the izzy kit, or the wiring. Where it it mounted/ Maybe they disturbed it during the detail.

It's mounted safely beneath the kick plate by the ECU

Haven't had a single issue with my izze air pump delete, just to put something positive back in this thread

I'm sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I forgot to follow this conversation.

As I've now said many times, the simulator is only as good as the installation. You must triple check your connections (correct wire? secure connection? good ground?) and check the constant battery voltage source/wire with a voltmeter – as stated in the instructions. I only include the squeeze connectors for those who absolutely cannot solder, please solder if you can.

P1415 could be caused by an incorrect connection at the OEM white/black (ECM plug 31P, #24) wire. This OEM wire must be cut, and the white simulator wire must be attached to OEM white/black wire leading into the ECU (leave the other side of the white/black OEM wire unattached).

I understand wiring isn't for everyone. In designing this module, I tried to use as few connections as possible; however, I cannot make it any simpler than it is now. The USDM air pump monitoring system is quite complex, accordingly, it requires multiple connections. Out of all the simulators I've sold (and I've sold quite a lot) two customers had faulty ECU's, that is, they were throwing air pump CEL's because the transistor that controls the OEM red wire (plug 32P, terminal #2) had failed – before the simulator installation. All other issues were because of incorrect wiring or a blown fuse for the constant voltage source. If it's a USDM S2000, your ECU is good, and you installed it correctly, the simulator will work.

ookielookie,

Like Bill said, it's likely the detailer accidentally yanked/pulled one of the simulator wires loose. If you used the squeeze connectors, the connection is very susceptible to being unattached. Check all of the simulator connections and solder if you can. Please keep me posted.

Thanks,
Caleb

We cleared the CEL and it just never came back. :D If it comes up again I'll recheck all of the wiring.

Good to hear. If it's an intermittent problem, then it's very very likely a loose connection. If you ever need help, don't hesitate to contact me (I'll respond quickest via email).
