Hello C&G Family,
Hoping this holiday season has not been too hectic for you yet and everyone has made their lists and checked them twice. If I happen to be on your “to buy for” list, Griot’s detailing products are always accepted at my house.. HA!
I think we can count ourselves as fortunate individuals this time of year, having the time and means to enjoy a hobby such as this is truly a blessing. So it is at this time of year we take a moment to give a little something to someone that may not be as fortunate or blessed.
Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks and a group of Marine reservists distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. Over the 62 years of the programs history the Marines have distributed more than 400 million toys. If you have ever watched a child open an unexpected gift you know how much just one toy can mean. For our third year we are joining forces with the Cimarron chapter of PCA to do our part in bringing a little joy to the hearts of a boy or girl that may not otherwise receive much this Christmas.
Please mark your calendars for Saturday Dec, 17th to attend our next meet and drive with us to Jackie Cooper Imports to drop off our toys and gifts. If you find yourself with a conflicting schedule and cannot attend the drive, but would still like to be a part of the giving, please contact me and I will find a way to collect your toy donation and get it to the drop off point on Saturday.
Thank you everyone for a great year, we had some super meets, some fantastic kart racing at JRP, and a memorable Fall drive. I’m looking forward to 2012 and even better events.
See you on the 17th!
Curt

This coming Saturday is T-Day (Toy Day)! You have 5 days left to find that perfect gift to bring for a boy or girl in need. The weather is looking decent, partly cloudy with a high around 50 degrees, pretty good for a December meet.
We are well on our way to exceed last year’s turnout and make our 4th toy drive the largest yet. Feel free to invite friends in the car hobby community to come out and join us, the drive is open to all makes and models.
Reminders:
*Meeting time is 9 am at the Church at Battle Creek (Just north of the BA on 145th)
*Toys should be unwrapped for delivery
*The drive to our collection host will leave promptly at 10 am and travel a 44 mile route ending at Jackie Cooper Imports at 91st and Memorial.
