North Norfolk Coast Run (Hunstanton to Blickling) - aka "Norfolk Nod"
Sunday 20th May 2012

The North Norfolk Coast has a road that goes all the way from Kings Lynn to Great Yarmouth and beyond. Parts of the Northern section are quite simply perfect for little cars like the S2000. And as the road has no "give ways" we should all stay together very easily.

The route I have in mind is:

Start:
10:00am
Hunstanton
Cliff Car Park
Lighthouse Close
PE36 6EL
£1.80 (Pay&Display)
leave here at 10:30am

1 hour 30 minute drive to Cromer

Hopefully we will be able to stop on Well-Next-Sea drive for a very quick photo.
My suggestion is that we drop off passengers on the way up and pick them up on the way back (they can take photos whilst out of the cars).

Stopping at:
Cromer
Runton Road Car Park
NR27 9AU
£2.20 for 2 hours
Stopping for Fish & Chips and a walk down the pier
Plan to leave here at 2:00pm

Then a 30 minute drive and

Finishing at:
Blickling Hall (National Trust property)
http://www.nationalt...rg.uk/blickling
NR11 6NF.
£10.75 for Hall and Garden or £7.25 for the Garden only
Blickling Hall closes at 17:30
GREAT NEWS: I have reserved FREE car parking spaces for ALL our cars in front of the hall! This should make an amazing photograph!

Total car driving time (without stops) approx 2 hours.

Please let me know if you might be interested in staying over somewhere near the start point or whether you would like to eat out on the Sunday evening before going home.

Yep. put Maryam and I down for this one.

Make sure you book some decent weather in advance. I hear Norfolk can get a bit breezy at times !

Also we'd be likely to want to stay over the Saturday night so if you have any recommendations for hotels then that would be a bonus.

If we're only half an hour at the start car park then we might get away without paying the £1.80 hoopflea! (practicing my Norfolk accent! Posted Image)

Suggestions for overnight stays:

Burlington House B&B. If you prefer hotels, Richmond House Hotel or Best Western Le strange Arms Hotel are both good too. Le Strange is in Old Hunstanton and is a bit out of town but the gardens go down to the beach.

Lee,
Sorry to hear that.
Unfortunately I now have a wedding on the 27th so I had to "move" to the 20th.

Yes definitely up for this. I was going to organise roughly the same route a few years back but the other way round as I'm from Yarmouth.

MQ said back then that she would be up for it so she might want to do this one.
The section between sheringham and wells-next-the-sea can be quite quick and is very fun. Me and my friend in his Subaru sometimes go for a thrash round there.

Looking forward to it.

Nick,

Do you fancy a mini convoy to Japfest?
My brother and I will be driving down in my S and a friend from work will be going down in his 350z.
Will you be driving down the A11?

Minvo !
