They are going to need 250hp at least to compete in the market...sad they'll need boost to reach such a low number

I love all the replies on that site with people crying that more power ruins the car and what it is supposed to be. I get that some people think 200hp is enough, and that having a low(er) cost lightweight RWD sport coupe is a nice change of pace, but it's not like anyone is putting a gun to their head forcing them to buy the boosted version. Let the people who require having at least equal power to all modern sedans have their fun too.

Sure, if it weighted 2200 lbs, then 200hp would be fine...but it doesn't, it's more like 2700 lbs. And at that, I still hold that somewhere around 270-280 would be a great starting point.

Didn't TRD suggest that they are in the process of developing a forced induction kit for the FR-S? that would be the way to go because it'll have the factory warranty as well. I don't see them offering an F/I kit and a turbocharged model at the same time. So most likely, that car is some sort of race/drift car.

One-off turbo version of Scion FR-S, yes; turbo-lite consumer version, maybe.

I saw that team drift car too. Sounds like the team is really excited for this season with the new FR-S.

I don't believe the FA was used in this drift car. I think it is a built STI block.
