Insurance What's your agreed value?

Today however, I decided to call them and ask, "Hello Mr RACV. I see on my policy you state that you have covered my vehicular contraption for what is noted as the market value. May I ask what this market value is my good sir?" to which Mr RACV responded, "Most certainly Mr S2000 owner, you vehicle is covered for a market value of $7,900". I was horrified. Actually, horrified would be grossly understating my response but it seems inappropriate to list down the obscenities that followed. I went on to ask if I could insure my dearest automobile at an agreed value to which Mr RACV responded, "Well of course! You can insure it all the way up to $11,000
In any case, I'm sure you'll all agree that an S2000 (even with half of it missing), is worth a whole lot more than $7,900 (or even $11,000 for that matter).
My question is this. Have any of you fine gentlemen been able to insure your car in the vicinity of $20,000 or more agreed value because to me, $7,900 is an absolute joke.

May 2012, moved to Shannons. Still 19,000 agreed value, less expensive slightly.

I think you'll find everyone does that no matter what car.
Age and k's unknown , their market value is looking pretty low. Maybe redbook says that, but there is nothing in the market for that price.
How old and how many k's!? That is the question

Managed to get 25000 agreed value at a 2300 premium, 1500 excess if i have accident (i'm 21).
but they said they're changing it this year because that's incorrect or something so my next policy i'm screwed.
Good thing, I'm selling the car before then. wasting too much money that I don't have on stupid sh1t like this. the car is NOT worth 15k market value, retards.

Paid $1,780. If theres a better deal let me know. They put the price up from last year to $30 but last year the
s2k was for $35,000 and the paperwork this year had $30,000. I said if the value goes down so should the payment?
the opperator said I will increase the value to $32,000.

I've heard some people have managed to get insured with and are under 25 and am wondering how...
- ← AEM users, what coolant temps (ECT) do you see?
- Australia & New Zealand S2000 Owners
- Sydney S2000's →

Help
