Just buy a replica. It should be fine as long as it's polyurethane and not fibreglass.
My soul is from elsewhere, I’m sure of that, and I intend to end up there.

You have to remember the AP1 went out of production 9 years ago.

Try some of the other Honda dealers. I'm sure they'll charge you an arm and a leg for it. I'm with NFOD, get a replica.

AP1 lips are discontinued, I was told the same thing from my Honda dealer in Perth a week or so ago :thumbdn:
Those that have replica's can you guys chime in and let us know which vendors you purchased off and it's fitment. Posting pics would be good too

Musecret has the PU lip and the Carbon lip for sale, anyone purchased from them and what was the fitment like?

thanks

Hi all, I bought my OEM replica lip from ebay =) i did a quick search and found the exact one I found for mine.AP1 OEM Lip Replica.
although I don't remember the price being so high. I paid 120 landed in Bris Vegas. Just a quick note though, my whole front bar will be up for sale soon. Just waiting on my upgrade first =) so keep an eye out in the Australia for sale and wanted; should be any week now.

Yeah i'm looking for an OEM front lip for my AP1. I work at a Toyota dealership and anything like lips are crazy expensive. I got a L+R front lip for a friend's IS250 (it's two halves) and that was on staff rate $175 a side. About double that for retail sale. I'm quickly realising that unless someone in VIC or in AUS is selling and happy to ship then it's going to have to be a PU ebay job. Otherwise it'll be in the order of $600-800 from Honda. I'll call my local dealer tomorrow to see if they can get their hands on any and report back with the findings but i can guarantee for OEM vs replica for a 10th of the price, just go replica.

No you didn't. You bought a replica.

OEM stands for 'Original Equipment Manufacturer'.

^^^ hey Aus, i always get confused how people use the term OEM. To me the original equipment manufacturer is Honda? I.e a part made only by Honda would be OEM, any other part made to suit the car, even if it looks and fits exactly the same, would be classified as a replica. Am i right?

I spoke to my local dealer, they can get the AP1 OEM lips, painted with a 2 week lead time they are $700 inc. GST. I asked for the MCB but that colour has been discontinued so i'm getting it in another and i'll paint it.

I went in to put a deposit down and from what the guy said there are only unpainted ones now. I work in the car industry, for a competitor of Honda but they still gave me $100 off and overnight shipping, it should arrive tomorrow morning then it'll be off to the panel shop where my car is for spray and fitting.

My local dealer now can't get OEM AP1 lips anymore. I picked mine up today, it was black and asked if they had access to more and they said no, the one i got was at another dealer and no other ones were listed in their dealer network emjays also tried to find one through my local dealer and was told there are none so i'm sorry to get hopes up.

Picked up my replica PU lip from Musecret, had it painted and I'm happy to say fitment was near perfect. There is a slight gap of about 3mm spanning 50mm on the LH side under the fake brake duct which is barely noticeable.

Those that go the replica route, I strongly suggest purchasing the rubber weather strip for the top of the lip. It seals the lip nicely to the bumper and gives that OEM finishing look.

Part code - 08F03-SHJ-1100D (if the dealer can't find it buy from the Hardtopguy.com)
