Thanks Tony, I think when I've collected all the money and posted I should just be about square. Which is what I set out to do anyway.

I would have to work out a proper price for the diffuser but it would only work if I bought a few of them.

The Duty/vat was 35%, I don't know how they work it out, I'll see GaryB on friday and will show him the bill,it's shocking that we pay and arrange these things and it's just free money for the government.it really knocks the arse out of buying anything from America, you wouldn't believe how much my engine/turbo eventually cost me. If I has known I seriously would not have bothered.

I think,$20 000 is conservative estimate.

That's lots of bottles of wine. I would have to keep that a secret from Madam Santenay and it would cost me many bottles of champagne if ever she found out.
As long as you have not made a loss, as I have said don't be out of pocket let me know if I owe any more money as you have put a lot of work in to make this happen.

You Sir are most welcome, as is everybody else, the main thing is that we have all got a good quality product for a good price, Thanks must also go to Eric at Alloy Craft for giving the discount which made this possible.

A quick update chaps, I've just had some plywood cut to make the shipping safer, so they will be packed and posted beginning of next week.

Sorry it's taking a while, but I only get home at weekends so it takes some sorting. I will post on here when they have been shipped, it's probably going to be Fedex, royal mail won't do the size and parcel force are too expensive.... 2plates to Finland for Tommi £30+

When you have received them could you let me know that there is no damage, the parts will be insured.

Thanks for taking part and collectively saving us all some money( and giving the government a little so they can squander it)

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. VAT@20% and duty rate depending on what they classify it as. Car parts will be different to aero kit which will be different to aluminium plate etc etc. It's open to interpretation depending on what's on the invoice.

If you have access to the list of classifications you can ask the supplier to list it differently on the shipping invoice.

Example:

Lets say these were $1000 each and shipping was $100 (For the purposes of a simple calculation)

Class them as car styling parts (bumper accessories) and duty will be £34.15
Class them as Aluminium plates and it's $22

And it's duty charged on cost of item + cost of shipping + cost of insurance.

So you're paying import duty on 2 things you can't actually touch (The shipping and the insurance). Now there's a scam if I've ever seen one!

So technically, for a low value item you could end up paying more in duty than you paid the for thing itself.

If you're importing lots of things from abroad, you need a mate who works in a freight forwarding office to get advice on what to get suppliers to put on the invoices.

If nobody comes forward I do have a spare one, I will have to wait a couple of days in case I missed somebody out.

Is anybody using this with the standard airbox? I still find the 6 little slats looking a bit tiny for the air to come through.

I'll be running mine with the standard airbox and k&n filter and glad someone else answered that question. In standard everyday driving I'm sure it will be more than fine. Arrived safety and so well packed :).

I figured it can't be any more restrictive than the standard lump of plastic that Honda put there.
