Well done Mark, some very tidy driving there fella and at least you finished. Due to running massive compression and std pistons I have an engine rebuild on my hands before silverstone. My car even with poorly engine helped me from 11th to fifth in less than two laps in race one. Cant wait for silverstone, with new piston and full power again.

Cheers AE.

Andy I didn't realise it had gone pop!

Should be a good turnout at Silverstone? Not a great track compared to Oulton though.

PS - hope nobody thinks i'm being unsociable in the holding area pre race, it's just once i'm in the car and strapped in, that's it! Takes ages to strap back in, becuase the hans is connected to my lid, and that has to go on in the car (can't put it on before as I can't see the belts) then the harnesses go over the hans, and I can't easily get it on with my lid on because I can't see down to the buckle thing :D Such a tight cabin. So I just sit there for 10 mins getting very hot :D

This makes for a fun Monday Morning read, Mark. Though I fear that combined with going to weekends (Brands yesterday) I'm not going to be able to hold out a great deal longer. I still miss my H22 EG Civic - and it's sorely tempting to look at putting one on the back of the grid...

Incidentally, my H22 civic was all set to go to Mr. Voaden for some fine tuning when I sold it. He used to be very active on Honda ®evolutions a few years ago.

Get it bought Keith!

Was good to finally meet you on Saturday Mark, I was soo busy spending every last minute i could on track at Anglesey last year i don't think we got to have a chat. S2K looked great and it is a real credit to both yourself and Andy. Good luck at Silverstone, IMHO it is the equivalent to racing on a 6 lane motorway and insanely boring haha! Could be interesting though seeing who has the balls to break latest 3 up into Brooklands :D. The main thing is to enjoy it and have fun which i was glad to hear was at the top of your priority list

Ohh and yes, i would love to see my DC2 go to someone like Andy! 7.5k for an MSA roll caged, flocked interior, bay smoothed monster DC2 is a fair price imho :). Fingers crossed i will make it to a few of the practice days you are on when my s2000 is built early Autumn and see how i fair behind the wheel of an S2K compared to my DC2 :).

The first lap of race 2 from viewpoint of the Evo mentioned in my post.
I'm in the cream coloured Ginetta that keeps passing him (twice on the outside!), then ends up in a spin trying to avoid his parked car.

Novice with a car that's too much of a handful for him I feel.

Thank mate. Think I agree on Silvertone, although never done it so will wait and see!

Trying to persuade Andy on your car ;) I think he likes the bare shell idea too though. I've sent him the spec of your car though.

Awesome!! Yeah i have been round Silverstone in a few different weapons now. The general rule of thumb is if it doesnt have 450+ hp and slicks it feels slow and boring haha.

Ahh good, good i have some footage on youtube too under willis dc2 :). Bare shell sounds great but i would of taken care of all the boring work for him and it comes with one hell of a spec list which he can either keep or sell on for parts he prefers. Very clean shell with only 55k on the engine and car itself. Would love it to go to Andy over someone who will just clean it and pose around in it.

He claims so - no-one else did though. Looked (from immediately behind) like lift-off oversteer (he'd been overtaken into the last 3 major corners by the same car, what's the betting he went into the Complex a little too quickly to try and keep the little cream Ginetta behind?).

Big power Evos are what ruined Castle Combe Saloons, horsepower > talent = very quickly arriving at the scene of the accident.....

As you can see, even if he hadn't crashed, he's holding people up - I want to be racing people in my class, not dealing with someone from the class above who should be away and clear. All he's doing is stopping me from catching the white Westy in front of us as I'm held up in the places he can't go quickly.

There are some very well driven Evos, there's a couple in our championship, but there are a lot more that have huge bhp and give the drivers flatteringly good lap times - these drivers should be learning racecraft in lower classes and working their way up to the big horsepower stuff.

I'm toying with speaking to the organisers, but I'd like to have a conversation with the driver first when we're at Rockingham next month.

BTW - YHPM about your first vid :)

Make sure he puts the camcorder on auto before you punch his lights out :fight:

@MB: If you're doing Snetterton, you must stop by. We're about half an hour NW of the track cross country. Be nice to have an S on the drive again :D OTOH these things are busy busy. A lad I used to teach is a marshall there. Might have some tips especially with your most excellent braking about where to overtake. But you will work out the track for yourself I'm sure. It should be much improved now with a new infield section.

That Evo is stupidly fast but doesnt seem to have the corners figured out :thumbdn: Its amazing watching MarkB go past three times and he just doesnt get it and boots past again, bad show.

That Evo is super quick on the straights, but the driver doesn't seem so keen on the bends. I did laugh when that Ginetta kept nipping past

Arsie, will do!

I've never even seen the track before. Will have to look on YouTube at some point soon.

Raz, I'm now on SRF (thanks Si) but had motul for the last race. The brakes got a bit of a hard time and after I got into the paddock after race 2, and the car had sat for 10 mins, the pedal was soft.

I've agreed a different disc and pad for the next race, plain FCR disc and RA pad. Should give better disc life.

Thanks MB I think I'll get some Castrol SRF and go up to a race front pad like Pagid RS29 or maybe DS3000.

I have every faith the SRF will never boil.

Even the Motul I was using coped with 2 full race meets and a trackday before it died, and the SRF is better stuff. Motul is a bit hydroscopic and needs regular change out.

If anyone boils SRF I will eat my hat. It is the same brake fluid used by most the F1 teams
