Hey Metro Area,

A couple members and myself from Upstate are looking to replace our softtops in the near future so Im looking to get a count on who else/how many others would be interested.

@Lazy_s2k a.k.a. SOFTTOPGUY has given us the great opportunity and easy solution to this..

He is willing to fly up from N.C. for a weekend (Hopefully March 31st/April 1st) and knock a few tops out, If we can get a few others to join in on this. Going to keep this simple until we start getting a count and some other info.

If any/all questions regarding pricing/material send a PM to @lazy_s2k

Will Update this thread with more info as we hash things out

Lets make this happen!

I have ap2v2 s2k. I just replaced my soft top a few weeks ago. I had a friend install it and he said it was annoying. It looks better than stock, but that could just be the fact that mine was getting old (cant believes its 5 years old!). The black has a richer look but again it could be due to age. the glass is slightly smaller from top to bottom but not from left to right and its heated. the only thing i dont like is that it you can see the frame on the outside corners. hard to explain ill post some pictures. mine top was about $450. but i didnt pay for installation. i heard installation ranges from $500-$2000.

I got an EZ on brand top. Seems pretty good to me. Got it for I think just under $400 shipped and installed it with one other person. Took about 8 hours. Not hard just takes some time to do.

8Hours!? I remember the 1st 2 at work took me about 7-9hrs but, now 4hrs and under. If I'm in a pretty good mood 2hrs. EZ-ON is alright just takes a tad bit more time to install and adjust to be honest. The fitment is alright also, I'm just not a big fan of them but everyone has their likes and dislikes. Me being that I do tons of Soft Top installs I prefer the Robbins over all at this point.

8 hours was with going to the store many times for tools and rivets etc. first time i installed one as well. Only tough part was getting the back rain seal and back of top screwed in. Removal was extremely easy.
Finitely happy I installed myself though. Good to know I can do it again no problem if/when I get tears again.

Pm lazy_s2k with your vehicle info he will let you know the exact price. All depends on vehicle and your choice of top.

Just wanted to come on here and vouch for B in case anybody is on the fence about having him do a top for them while he is in the region. He has done work on my car a number of times before and always does a very professional job, not only quickly and expeditiously, but also with a level of care that you would only expect to get from somebody that you know personally.

There are instructions out there on how to do top installs yourself, but I have seen a member local to me who is very capable otherwise screw it up royally. When he finished it was functional but loose, and blew up like a parachute in the wind. B's top installs are flawless; there's not really much else to say about it. He uses a high-quality product, installs it perfectly and faster than you would believe, and charges a competitive and fair price for his services. He's also a genuinely nice guy, and has proven to be very knowledgeable about the S2000 and capable with it mechanically.

Y'all enjoy your new tops up there! You better, y'all know you're making him miss VIR for this. :argh: :hello:

I'd also like to quickly vouch for B. He installed my top in probably a third of the time it would have taken me and was very friendly throughout the whole process. When I consider the man-hours and worry that I saved, hiring him for the install was a no-brainer. I'm happy to say that some months later the top is still air-tight and leak-free.

Hire with confidence!

Swinging by and throwing in my vouch for B as well. The guy is simply amazing, great service, and even a fun guy to just talk to. He really knows his stuff and his prices are beyond reasonable. I've reached the point that I don't really want anyone else ever working on my car.

If you're not sure or maybe waffling because you don't know they guy, be comforted! B is definitely the guy you want doing your work!

Prefer Robbins over OEM? What are the differences? Also any idea on the weight difference from an OEM plastic to a Robbins plastic? Can you PM me detailed pricing please? Also what will the location be?
