The funny thing about RV's is one needs no special license to drive one no matter how big... Strange huh.. Something to think about when you see a vintage driver behind the wheel one of those bus RV's

I know. It is a bit scary that the RV industry has been so successful in lobbying against special licensing to drive vehicles up to 45' long that may in fact be pulling a trailer or towing a vehicle that weighs in at as much as 10K pounds. When one throws conversion bus Class A's into the mix it gets scarier because some of them have air brakes.

On my defensive driving list of vehicles to stay clear of:

1. Rental trucks (especially ones that towing vehicles)

2. Volvo's (Years ago the Virginia DOT did a study that found that even though Volvo's make up less than two percent of the registered vehicles in VA they are involved in over ten percent of the fatal accidents. They dubbed it the "Volvo Syndrome". Because of Volvo's safety record the people that drive them think that they are invincible (like a teenager again).

3. Motor homes (especially if towing another vehicle or trailer).

4. Motorcyclist on "crotch rockets" doing stupid stuff.

5. Motorcyclist on Harley's and other cruisers that are out for a "putt" going under the speed limit.

Charlie,

Good luck with your new home away from home. Best wishes for a great season in 2012.

Looks a lot like a motorhome that I've spent several nights in, except there was a big bed where you are putting the race car.

Thanks Bill..... It really has been a blast so far.. He lives for racing it consumes his being... This weekend we raced indoors at Motorama in Harrisburg PA.. There were 207 cars in all the divisions. Christian had 35 in his one class Jr Honda where placed 5th in the feature. In his other class Jr Animal had 26 cars and he finished 2nd. He was really awesome I was so proud and it was great to see how excited he was about his racing all weekend. Ths race attracts the best in Quarter Midget racing from asphalt and dirt up and down the east coast. You have to picture this.... Even at his level 5-9 he being 7 there are factory teams with expert handlers setting up cars suggesting tire compounds and spring rates, cross weight etc... We do it on our own which makes it that much more special. There is even a 8 year old development driver for Tony Stewart who raced. for us to make the A main in both classes is a reflection of how much dedication and work Christian and I put onto this sport. It is very intense and extremely competitive. This is not just about racing but is teaching him lessons in life , like if you work hard you will succeed and success is good!

Speeds have really picked up since the last video I watched. It's sad that it is amateur vs professional already at that level but as we all know $ talks. You have a great attitude about it. Only wish my dad and I could have bonded in a sport I always dreamed about. :)

Well we kinda did. . . :drunk: :egads:

yes Dave, concrete is much faster also indoors looks faster than outside.. they were haulin the mail though 6.50 second laps. We have enough money to compete at this level its the finer knowledge where I lack a bit but improving all the time.. there is also no amount of money that can give a child the will to win it has to come within.
