Future of S2K owners clubs for the UK

Regarding forum/club split, I've never found it an easy marriage. Certainly in the past there have been occasions where I though some UK forum moderation was biased towards the club. That is somewhat natural given the people who are putting the time/effort in are likely to be involved in both. Did make me go "hmm" a few times though.
The whole club scene has been changing a lot over the years. The life of the S2000 has seen internet forums grow tremendously, which has changed the landscape drastically. At times S2ki seemed good value. Then every single update after a certain point seemed to make the search engine worse. I know this is something for Internet brands rather than here, but I'd like it if they made the search engine REALLY good for subscribers, with the same access but time throttled for non members. That would make the wealth of information here worth paying the subs for.
I joined SK2UK when I got my second S2000. I figured I'd see how it felt. Have to decide come April if I renew or not. Then again I'm also putting more time in on the forum here to see if I think it's worth it again. Certainly there have been periods on this forum where the noise outweighed the signal. I think having a UK technical subforum might help that somewhat.

Well what do you do down South?
Driver training/academy/airfield days - subsidised for members
Track days - Croft/Knockhill circuits.
Shows - a couple of good shows in Scotland -Roadie normally goes to one of them
I seem to remember there have been events at BTCC down South so what about something at the BTCC at Croft or Knockhill?
Basically Ian you need someone who is interested in promoting S2KUK in the North of the country (not just Leeds/Manchester but proper North). If you do stuff people will come

Why you do not want to order ANY of your S2000 parts from ANY UK Honda Dealer

Agree, and the club is looking for that person(s). A start would be the specific shows that those up north are interested in and want support with. The BTCC stuff came from Honda UK, so once we know their plans to support clubs this year we can mention the northern BTCC events to them too.
Perhaps a start would be someone local organising a regular or the odd pub meet - get people together and get some ideas flowing, see what folks want support on.
So, volunteers please

"Please take good care of your S2000, keep it by your side for long and enjoy it from the bottom of your heart and share the quality and legacy of the S2000 with many friends so that the legend of the S2000 will continue for long." - Shigeru Uehara - Chief Designer, S2000 - 12th April 2009, Trentino, Italy
"S2000 came from a dream; it was built with passion and even though production will end on 7th August the dream will live on, so please keep it by your side for long!" - Mr. Aoki - Honda Collection Centre - S2000 Final Production Tour 11th July 2009, Motegi, Japan
