How much is it burning? How hard are you driving it? I'm using pennzoil platinum in my02 and it's not bad at all if i'm nice to it.

i just use the car for work every day probably 10 miles a day, i just changed my oil a month ago and when i checked my oil level today it was low already, i had to refill it with 1 and 1/2 qts :(

Yeah i did the switch from mobil to castrol as well did help quite a bit but still burns some. Get into the habit of checking everytime you fuel up.

1qt per 1000 miles is normal. Unless you have an exact miles to quart consumption this is all silliness.

What year s2000? Also have you checked your spark plugs? Are they covered in oil? Is there oil in the spark plug tube? If so you probably aren't burning oil, spark plug seals that are leaky can mimic oil consumption

I run Pennzoil 10w30 high mileage, it helps with oil consumption, this oil change I didn't miss a drop

I've run Amsoil ATM 10W30 since the motor has been broken in. The overall average consumption is less than 0.2 US QT per 3,000 miles. My car hasn't burned a drop in recent history - stayed right at the top X for over 3,000 miles on the last oil change.

how much of that 3000 miles did you go to 9k or 8k? I burn about 1 quart of Amsoil 0w-30 in about 4000-5000 miles and thats with hitting VTEC every chance I get! :D
9k ALL THE WAY!!

I use to burn 1 litre every 300-400km, but after replacing my pvc valve for like 10bucks and switching to valvoline synpower, I go the full 5000km without having to add any oil.

I use Castrol 10W-30 Synthetic with a little bit of Lucas Oil Stabilizer which helps prevent oil consumption and helps with TCT.

Well what I put in my s2k is half Shell V-Power and half Chevron with Techron. V-Power + Techron = VTEC! :D

Glad mine is abnormal. I run either Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Synthetic 10w-30. I change oil between 6K and 8K miles. Rarely add more than 1/2 quart between changes. Car has been heavily autocrossed since new.
