I'll be moving my CR about 300 miles in the next couple weeks. I'll be using some sort of aluminum flat bed trailer (haven't decided if I should buy one or just rent) and I am wondering if any of you have any tips or suggestions. I already did a search of related topics and found that I will need to extend the ramps to prevent scraping. I'll also be ordering something like Transport Wrap to cover the vulnerable surfaces.
I appreciate your input

Without going into the details of the situation, I have had my car on a flat bed and you do need to extend the ramp all the way to the ground with a more leveled angle. Just using some 2x4 pieces of wood for extension will work fine. Take your time and have someone help guide you with it :)

U-Haul does have a vehicle transport trailer available. A friend used one to move his S2000 on one. The only thing was he had to use some 2x12's under the front tires to raise the front of the car above the front of the trailer.

If there is a Penske truck facility near you try them too, they have car trailers to rent or lease.

If you have AAA plus or premium, use those tows; its only 300 miles.

Thanks for the info guys  As for AAA, they have a 200 mile limit for my region otherwise I would definitely take advantage of that

Pick a location 200 miles from where the car is. Tow there. Meanwhile, call again, and tow from that proxy location to your final location.

Two tows, no charge :)

Did you guys use any straps in addition to what the rental company provides? I was looking at this thread and it is making me feel like I need more straps: http://www.s2ki.com/...-attach-points/

The companies I recommended use "over the thread" type straps that go over the front tires and are ratcheted down. Once on properly the cars not going anywhere.

If you tow the car or especially if you drive the car I recommend this product. It goes on easily and you have up to a week to remove the film. Note, it does not go on to where you cannot see wrinkles and slight bubbles. But it stays put in excess of 130 mph I know for a fact and comes off cleanly with no residue.
