I have just had my year 2000 S2K with 105K miles on the clock back from MOT. As expected from this immaculate joy of a machine, faultless but for the need to remove my S2KUK badge from the windscreen. It appears you cannot now apply anything to the windscreen other than the tax disc, alas we are paying for the stupidity of these beauticrates.

It's not how I read it here http://www.ukmot.com/6-1.asp

Are you sure your sticker isn't within the specified area?

I had my MOT done in December, the S2KI sticker is next to where the rear view mirror attaches to the windscreen, no issues at all.

I have a MM6 sticker, S2KUK sticker, my tax disc and the standard Honda no baby seat one & mine passed the new MOT with no reference to the windscreen.

You have obviously found mr jobsworth who has misinterpreted the rules as Rich as mentioned.

As I read it (from MOT sites), nothing must encroach by more than 40mm into the swept area (or 10mm in "zone A" swept area right in front of driver - see mot site).

Is the S2k badge encroaching the swept area by more than 40mm? Exceptions (if not obscuring vision) are "offical" stickers and I quote: "'Official' stickers which are not readily removable- such as vehicle licenses, parking and access permits- are only a reason for rejection if they seriously restrict the the driver's view. 'Official' stickers should be taken to be any sticker which is used in connection with 'road enforcement', 'security' or 'crime prevention' matters.
These include: Disabled persons badges/permits, Parking permits, Licences and vehicle Anti-Theft Scheme stickers issued by a police Authority."

That's how I read it anyway......

If its not in the area 'swept' by the wipers it should have passed. I had a Skunk2 sunstrip on my old civic and it passed MOTs no problem beacuse I fitted smaller window wipers! :D Quite a common thing to do if you want to legally run a sunstrip or 'windshield banner' as the yanks call them

Oh, that's just fu cking stupid! ALL Honda VEDs will be in the way, unless you have a stupid German car with LHD wipers.

I might fit mine with truck wipers & see if the bonnet badge fails the MOT.

Ever since September of 2008, we have seen the fruits of the fiat money roots that Mises warned against almost a century ago. But modern free-market economists are as hostile to Mises's theory of the business cycle as they were hostile to Mises's theory of the economic irrationalism of socialism . . . until the Soviet Union fell. Then, they got religion, but they still never mention Mises. It was as if he had never lived....Gary North
