It looks like it may work. It's doing basically the same thing the defouler mod is doing, which is moving the o2 sensor outside of the test pipe or high flow cat. Not sure about that mini honeycomb but in theory I can't see why it wouldn't work and be a little more efficient than the defouler mod. However, with a $50 price tag, I'll stick to the defouler mod.

Yep it works, if you have a 06 up the secondary is very sensitive and defoulers don't really work. I went through 2 types of defoulers before I tried this and I haven't gotten a CEL since!

haha. well this one is different than the one from autozome. This one has a mini filter like a CAT that filters out the bad exhaust particles that set off the CEL. The one from autozone is just a bolt that is drilled 1/2 inch so the o2 is pulled away further from the exhaust.

Clever idea but added to the cost of a test pipe, $60-$100, I wouldn't run without a cat if the defouler didn't work, all things considered.

I tried the autozone cheap method before as well, stacked 2 of them and tried a cheap angled defouler but neither did the trick, the 06+ cars secondary O2 sensor is very picky

Looks like a brilliant idea.

Has ANYONE kept the CEL off in a 2006-2009 s2k with a test pipe?

I have a 2006 with Greddy SE Dual with a drone that was mind numbing. Installed a 70mm Berk test pipe with CEL fix that got rid of the drone but immediately got O2 CEL. Talked to Berk and they sent me some stainless steel wool to stuff into O2 sensor stub before installing O2 sensor. Works like a charm. I have three thousand miles since then with no CEL. Internet search reveals that this fix has been successfully used on a large number of auto brands and configurations. Go figure.

Didn't we resolve this issue already? Maybe should put in the FAQ.

There is a $13 spacer from Blox that kept mine CEL-free.

I have tried two spacers, 4 spacers, and steel wool with no luck.

I guess there is a tiny window of success with the 06-09 cars with getting the flow just right. Not to much, not too little.

So it is definitely not resolved. What works for one person is not working for all like the 00-05 cars.

TIL:

More reason for people to give it a shot.
'06+ also has a TSB for an ECU update that tweaks sensitivity of the o2.
