Stainless Steel Brake lines
#45
Wow.
Do this, go to a company like airtech (http://www.airtechproducts.ca/) to get them made. Cheaper than aftermarket, DOT approved, and uses factory like fittings for a stock like fit. you take them your old OEM rubber ones and they produce new stainless, simple.
Plus you will only need to wait one hour to get them.

Installed the Russell set last night
Perfect fit (could be a smidge longer in the fronts, just to take the sharpness of the bends a little bit)
Tip for rears- take the rear ebrake covers
Off to get at the 2nd lower 10mm bolt that holds the line. There are two small 10mm bolts that hold the cover on (so small you'll think you snapped it)
10mm flare wrench (bleader screw/flare nut on hard line)
(Stubby 10mm helps)
-14mm wrench (banjo bolts)
-12mm socket/wrench (two bolts two mounting tabs)
18mm wrench (hold to tighten ss lines to hardlines)
Pair of pliers for the clips
The mounting tabs are fine
BUT because they are loose
I started from the caliper and worked back
To the hardline
Not saying which is best.. for my wife's 2002 the Russells are decent
-clear coating on lines
-almost OEM FIT (OEM tabs are fixed on the hose)
-front and rear sets (clearly marked front/rear)
-mounting tabs
-DOT
-Made in the USA of U.S. and foreign components
-and pricing was friendly
There are cheap ebay options but I would
Like to assume that Russell/Edelbrock has
Better quality control
Anyhow just my 2 cents

had goodrich and they were too generic of a fit. Bought SOS lines and they are perfect. Definitely recommend them.

I had GT motoring lines at all 4 corners - I would not recommend them, but since they're out of business I don't think that'll be a problem for anybody.
I had one rear line from them with a bad tap that wouldn't thread, so I had to wait for a replacement. Now I just noticed a tear on the coating on one of the fronts (though I think I did that getting overly enthusiastic on the wrench getting the caliper bracket off during a recent brake job.
Now I have stoptech fronts, and I'll probably pick up some rears if the GT ones ever start to look bad.

I recently switched from stoptechs that I had bought a while ago to spieglers that came with my AP racing BBK, the spiegler lines were of a massively higher quality. In stoptech defense they were only $100 for all for from amazon while the spiegler lines were roughly $200 if bought outside of the kit.
