It's time for updates. Our trip to Crete was wonderful! I should upload some photos at some point. We booked a 300cc ATV and drove to Plakias, then to Chóra Sfakíon and eventually back to Rethimno. The mountain roads were very nice and the ATV oversteered quite nicely with enough throttle. Water was very warm and the weather was nice and sunny with practically no wind at all.

My S2000 was hibernated straight after our trip. A month ago I got my EE5 Civic welded enough to get a years MOT. Here are a couple of videos of our ice "track" day. Sorry about the poor sound quality. I forgot my waterproof camera case and the camera mounted to the sun roof.

A WRX STI can't get rid of me:

Our track layout was also changed multiple times

I have crappy Chinese studded tyres and I completely lost traction when we started driving clockwise after the ice was worn smooth and slippery. There were a couple of places where I avoided risks. A bit after overtaking the spinned WRX, when driving to a bump sideways, my exhaust touched the prop shaft so I had to retire... Actually, the same happened a lap before but it wasn't that bad.

Hi Chris and others! How's the winter in Greece? It was -20 degrees and windy yesterday but what a great day it was! Icetrack season 2015 was opened! The track was in bad condition and the banks were hard as rock at some places but I driving on ice was good fun. I felt bad for the car, though. There were horrible grooves on a couple of corners. The rear suspension arm of a Nissan Laurel snapped when a friend of mine slid sideways across those tracks. I captured incar videos at this time as I forgot the other camera at home.

I tried not to slide too much when going counter-clockwise. You can see the difference between ice spikes and worn out low-quality studded tyres ,with less than half of the studs left, on the last lap after I let the race Sierra past. We're quite equal everywhere else but the tight bends. BTW. All the cars that overtook me had racing spikes

Second stint:

I took much wider lines when going clockwise after the plough smoothed the track slightly .

Sadly, I had to retire once again after severe exhaust to prop shaft contact...

I really need to get "Rotisko" on a hoist and weld some more exhaust attachment points. New exhaust would be even better as the old one has been patched several times.
