"Yeah, we used to have a mid-life crisis car too, but we sold it." I was thinking, uh no, this is a whole-life crisis car! If I needed a mid-life crisis car, I would be driving something that would get me laid by someone other than my wife.

Ah, I see now why you are making an electric S2000 - it's to offset the emissions from your AMG! :) W211 E63?

I have two other AMGs myself, well, sorta - I just sold my C43 to my parents, and I will be keeping my C55. But the C43 will be getting an NA '55' engine swap soon. Great cars! Very different from the S2000. It's nice to have the different cars.
88 Saab 900 Turbo SPG - the 'SAAB0TR' - SDS / OZ / Wilwood / Koni / Abbott / Kinetic GT30R - Sold
74 Saab 99LE - rallycar - Sold
01 Honda S2000 - KW / Spoon / Mugen / J's Racing / Tanabe / Powerflex / Enkei / Stoptech / SOS Stage 1 supercharged - Sold
99 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG - Vogtland / Bilstein / KMac / Speedybenz / C32/55 OE big brakes / NA '55' swap - Sold
05 Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG - '63' paddle shifters
02 Audi A4 Avant Quattro 1.8T - Eibach/Koni/APR Stage 1+
06 Land Rover LR3 HSE - wife's vehicle

The S2000 panty dropper story!

Even though I am not a fan of electric cars this should be interesting and I have to give you props on the engineering. Can't wait to see it finished.

Cool, another electric S2000. How will this compare to the other guys? More power? I think he put his batteries under the hood.

hahaha those adverts are really strange
but yes that is my motor and no it will not produce free electricity for homes.
It is the older version though

Here are mine when I picked them up :)))

Also, my build blog is pretty ancient and never particularly gets updated..

Im surprised to see so much interest! Awesome! I have tons of pictures and such that I am dying to share but I need to take some time and explain them so Ill just post a couple for your viewing pleasure..

Redline is 6500 RPM, however she should be able to run at like 8k.
If I had an AC motor, I would be able to push 13k... Now that would be nice!!!
Running a 4.1 ratio on the custom 8.8 custom rear differential Im running.
If you haven't seen that, check it out here http://www.s2ki.com/...l-from-scratch/

Range is more complicated, should be anywhere from 90-120 miles depending on speed. At 30 mph theoretically about 180 miles
Check out my 100% electric S2000!

Awesome build. I'm definitely watching this progress. I have the same questions as everyone else.

Mileage?

Rough cost?

Lifespan of drivetrain?

Transmission?

HAHA NICE!!!!!!!! I remember seeing a similar setup yrs ago in a Miata, I've always wondered when someone would do the same thing on a s2k.

Wow this is awesome. Cant wait to see it finished. About how much would it all weight in the end? Also once finished you should take it on a track or something to compare it to other s2000s, see if all the work paid off there too.

That's crazy. This is what you do in your off time? What the hell do you do at work? Assemble Nuclear arms?
