I heard back from Honda on the inspection. While they were a bit picky I wanted some Honda specific eyes on the car. There were enough things wrong that said the car was not well maitained. Some items were just "not oem" enough that Honda didn't like but there were enough things that was a clear sign of a car nobody cared for. I'm walking away from this one , don't want it at any price. Off the top of my head

tires wider than fender (technicaly illegal)
broken wheel stud, nut held on with glue
multiple exhaust leaks
missing battery tie down
hood squirters missing (blame Calif owner for that one)
all fluids discolored, coolant should be flushed
missing tire liners (probably to run wide tires)
and there was much more on the list I can't recall

The good news, compression was good and even across the board. 1-215 2-210 3-210 4-210 I can't believe they charged a full hour labour just to do a compression test but IMO it was easily worth it.

Thanks all for your input !!

Don't rush. Spend some time looking, I am sure you will find the right one.

Personally, I would have hung up the phone after hearing this one.

Good job passing on it. May I ask what part of Canada do you live in and which Honda dealership did the inspection for you?

Trust me I'm not in any rush, been looking since early December last year when I started to learn all about S2k quirks to know what to look for. I was hoping this one was only rough on the outside, had large paint chips everywhere. As it would be a track car I wouldn't care. But, as is often the case, the way it looks on the outside is 10% of what lies underneath. Some poor little punk is going to buy this one with all his pennies (cheapest S in the area) and get himeself a real headache. Mike this was in Ottawa.

Ok, a lot is wrong with this car. first off almost everything has been changed from the bumpers to carpets and seats. I paid 10k cash for my 02 gpw . My02 is in pristine condition the only reason i would buy this car is for the color combination.
