Ha !

Thanks JB. Jeff too said something similar. Something about doing the S2k community a service by wrecking a Miata

The only problem is that these Miatas are developed. Special roll cage, suspension, Lime Rock exhaust, who knows what else. It wasn't no $3,000 car he wrecked.

Aashish
"I lifted and turned the steering wheel a little. Trailing Throttle Oversteer kicked in and this was the result" No need for the pic again
This is the "evil handling characteristic" of the S that everyone talks about. More pronounced in the AP1 but still there in the AP2. The car will and likes to rotate! The MX5 is very well versed in this too but takes no hit in the press for being "evil" You have to learn when/where/how to control it to your advantage. It is a great tool when you make it happen on purpose.
It is counter intuitive not lift but you probably just didn't want a "lap of shame" for passing pit in and let the wrong synapses connect. Even if you kept it on the normal trajectory you may have made pit in with some demonic breaking but your brain said go in and your hands and feet followed orders. The right synapse paths and muscle memories are already being formed as you think over the results. Try playing out in your mind what you wish you had done instead of what happened and you will be on your way.
Keep at it, I had several "offs" along the way, everyone does and it is important to finding the limits. Just don't find them too often!

Just signed up to return to WGI with the Boston BMW guys 9/18-19. Looks like they have had lots of applicants so I hope I didn't wait too long!
Also NHMS with Boston/White MNT chapter for a 3 day in Oct!

Thanks Paul. I read this last night and gave it some serious thought as I went to bed. Coming down under the bridge, eyes up and ahead, quick hands to turn right and on the gas heading on to the front straight. Came to a stop at the stopbox and this time the corner workers cracked a joke or two and told me to go around and back inside.

Good luck with the events at WGI and NHMS. I have said it before and will say it again. You will make a great instructor. Hope to see you move up a rung by the end of this season

Here's something for those of us who drive Lime Rock. Exciting run, BUT ... Watch to the end.

^ Jeff- I believe that was at the annual race that MoHud holds every year. There was talk about that on the MoHud Facebook group, first time I'm seeing the video though. Scary stuff.

Anyone planning on going to NHMS with SCDA next Monday?

I was going to do 1 more track day this year at NHMS end of September but I have to be at work that day
so next Monday is my last shot! Website says intermediate 1 is sold out. Don't know if they have an
intermediate 2 or not. Still checking on logistics before I contact them.

Man he sliced through the field there huh? Big stones to get right back on it full bore after the first one and maybe too big on the second attempt!
