Hey guys quick question. Figured il ask on here before I make a new thread about it. I will be replacing the entire caliper, pads and rotors. Will be removing brake lines and blown out clean with my air compressor. How much Brake fluid is needed for this job? emptying out the reservoir and refilling the lines. is one liter of ATE enough?

Also upon ordering a bottle of ATE i notice there is two models type 200 and SL 6. Which one do i use?

I typically have to run through at least two bottles of fluid to get all the air out of the lines after they are reinstalled so I would get at least 2. I usually use a cheap dot 3 to start and then finish off with the better stuff. You want to use type 200. Also, you will need to do a combination of the 2 person method and this method to get the air out of the lines. Gravity bleeding is mainly for replacing existing fluid.

Why the switch to normally aspirated? My S is an 07 with 60K miles and I plan on 3-4 HPDE a year: I currently run an 86 Mustang with mass air 351 and Griggs suspension. I am considering a turbo. What about reliability? I live in south La. and the Summers can be very hot and humid. Thanks.

Old thread, but still very helpful. Car parts guy told me the blue is illegal because it looks like windshield washer fluid and some dolt may put brake fluid in washer tank or washer fluid in brake system. Oh well...

Supposedly, FMVSS requires brake fluid to be colorless or amber in color.
