TPMS light on, low tire light off, tire pressures ok
The low tire light came on a few weeks ago on an unusally cold morning. I aired up the tires and the light soon went out. A few days later the TPMS light comes on with NO low tire light. Bad sensor or receiver? Any way to reset the system or retrain it? Car is low mile, but is out of full warranty due to months since new. I do have a HondaCare extended warranty, but it is not clear if this is covered or not. I would like the light off and the system working as designed.
Thanks

TPMS light on means there is a code stored for the TPMS system, just like the CEL for the engine.
Could be many things...sensor, sensor temp, sensor battery, comm error, the list is long. you will need a TPMS scan to determine what the stored code is.

If the miles are still super low, and the bumper to bumper warranty didn't expire TOO long ago, they could possibly "good will" it. It's hard to score that, but it's not unheard of.

i'd be happy to just be sure your tires are at spec air pressure on the door jamb, check monthly as recommended, and call it a day. I've never worried about TPMS...oh wait...i rented an impreza in arizona a few years ago, tpms came on, pulled over, and sure enough, had picked up a piece of shrapnel. tire was dead in under a minute.
so just don't pick up metal and you'll be fine.
good luck

Most of the time, TPMS is a bad sensor. Not sure what customer cost is, but it shouldnt be too bad. It does need to be reset like Billman said and most likely re-learned. Not something you can really do without the dealer
