Sac2KDays V is almost here!!!
Summer is almost here and that means it’s time for the annual Sac2kdays/High Sierra Run event. In one of the largest gatherings of S2000s anywhere, Blair Morrow and his Sacramento area crew always put on a great event. The previous four have created many an S2ki legend, (none greater than room 676) and the fifth anniversary promises more fun and merriment.
Blair had this to say about the 2006 event:
I am dedicating this years festivities to my father, Leonard Morrow, who passed away suddenly on January 8th of this year. If any of you have come to any activities in the last 5 years, you have met him, he was a huge fan of this club and it’s members and did a lot of behind the scenes work to make this all happen. I’m sure he will be with us in spirit.
This event is as always, A NO CHARGE EVENT, open to any S2000 owner that would like to attend… The most important theme of this years event is that , if you come, PARTICIPATE, in other words, meet your fellow members, feel free to bring swim suits and towels and hang out all day if you’d like, That’s the only rule for this year.. This mega-meet is put on for pure fun, plain and simple… so please attend and enjoy all your fellow members!!!!
Here’s the itinerary:
Friday June 9th:
Out of town visitors will gather together to enjoy a group pizza and beer party In Elk Grove with hotel rooms set aside at the Holiday Inn.
Saturday June 10th
All guests are invited to Blair’s world famous “Tiki Lagoon.” There will be an expanded vendor expo and of course a Luau and giant BBQ at the end of the day!!
From 9am to 500pm the Vendor expo will feature the following: Streetsmart, Rolling Audio, Comptech, Automajic, Aero Colors, Dent repair, ABC Detail. (Please call the vendors ahead of time , and make a reservation, we had over a 100 cars last year, so they are all bringing twice the manpower to speed things up)
900am to whenever for the luau and BBQ!! Have fun swimming and meeting new members and old friends. Please bring swim suits and towels. Lunch will not be anything formal, so bring your bag lunches or something to throw on the grill which will be running all day for you. Dinner will be served at around 600pm.
Sunday June 11th
All participants will gather at Elk Grove Honda at 900am to prepare for the days drive up thru the gold country, high sierra. and over Mt’ Rose summit and down into Reno. There will be a catered private lunch at the base of Kirkwood Mountain at Kirkwood Ski resort.
Continue on for a tour of Lake Tahoe and Mt Rose, up to 9500 feet elevation, with plenty of photo ops along the climb, take your own pace, meet at Mt. Rose ski resort for a short break and re-gather, and then down into Reno, for a one to two night stay the Reno Hilton, complete with Private parking lot, hospitality party, then group dinner afterwards, then of course, the world famous , bowling tournament. Hospitality room festivities begin at 500pm ask for that room number when you check in. Following the hospitality party there will be a special Fajita Dinner at the in-house Chevy’s @ 800pm.
Monday June 12th
For the people that aren’t staying on in Reno, there will be a group drive around Lake Tahoe , along with a group lunch before everyone parts ways to head home.
