Year 10: A Thank You Note And An Invite For Brickbats and Bouquets

This past week has been quite hectic for all of us working to bring content to the home page. Preparations started way before the big day as we had a full week of discussion and several threads related to what we wanted to bring to you on the BIG 10 occasion. We thank you for all your comments and feedback. Your comments and feedback are important to us, and we assure you that we do our very best for you, our readership. All of this is a roundabout way of asking all the lurkers to be more vocal and post more comments here, and not just on Facebook.

That said, thanks go out to the site founders Cthree, HondaGal and Krazik for building and sustaining a great community. Credit is also due to all our members and Honda for building a car that forged this great community. I look forward to the next 10 years.

A special word of thanks to HondaGal for all her support and enthusiasm without which the year 10 celebration would have only remained a thought. I’d also like to acknowledge her for gamely stepping up and penning the year 10 announcement and for her support in researching information for the content you have read so far.

Any celebration like this calls for some kind of iconography and we are indebted to PrimoGen, who spent time coming up with the Year 10 Avatars and Badges. Not only did he very patiently put up with our tough and exacting demands, but he also very graciously created Avatars in several colors based on requests from other members.

I’d also like to thank our other contributors who supplied us with content and also did the grunt work. Back-Cracker, Mocky, Luder94, SakiGT, Aquila Eagle, Ckit, and AusS2000, this whole week of celebration would not have been possible but for your effort in supporting the home page.

Last but not least, I’d like to thank the news team. JulieU for her diligence and immediate response for edits and changes and for being our cheerleader. Energetic deserves a big round of applause. He was scheduled to go on a ship for a week and he spent sleepless nights getting content ready before he left. Once on the high seas, he obtained a 3G SIM from a “Pirate of the Mediterranean” and kept checking in from his iPad offering help and suggestions where needed. He also typed up content on his flight back home and had it ready for me within the span of a few hours. His sheer energy, enthusiasm, and love for the community have always been an inspiration and I’m very thankful for all his support.

With that out of the way, it’s time for me to hit the road in my S2000. God knows, how I’ve yearned to drive it all week, but was kept away by work and home page commitments. Time for you too, to get out there rain or shine, and enjoy the car. Now that we’ve passed a milestone, lets aim for the apex of the next.

Thank you,

-A2
