Honda S2000 SCCA Autocross STR For Sale S2KI.com

S2KI forum member is selling their race-ready S2000, and, at $23,000, seems to be an absolute steal of a deal.

Car enthusiasts love to talk about the go-fast part on their rides, however, when push comes to shove, few actually have what it takes to drive that modified car to the local autocross or track day and actually maximize their car’s potential. Not so with this AP2 S2000 for sale in the forums. S2KI member, teamking, actually drives his S2000 as the Honda Gods always intended. Specifically, he wheels the car in SCCA autocross events in STR class, and wins, a lot.

Street Touring Roadster, STR for short, is where modified but modified convertibles throw down while using the latest and greatest 200-treadwear street tires. For those not in the know, STR may as well be a spec S2000 class, as these cars dominate the field. A well setup, STR-prepped S2000 is also a devilishly fast ride when it comes to cone dodging. We have seen this firsthand. So, too, has teamking, who states, “I’m selling my 2005 Sebring Silver STR-prepped AP2 S2000, “Nimbus”. It has certainly been dominant in STR trim at local events over the last two years, in 2017 alone it had 9 FTD’s and FTP’s in 8 events. At our last event local, it just got FTD and 2nd FTP. The car has also trophied the last two years at Nationals.”

So, this S2K really is race-ready and ready to win. It’s not often a car can promise and repeatedly deliver on claims of fastest times of the day. Being an STR car, this AP2 comes with a pretty healthy mod list:

  • JRZ RS Pro (double-adj, remote reservoir)
  • Hyperco Springs 750/650
  • Karcepts FSB
  • HKS Exhaust
  • Modifry beeper & brackets
  • PLM Header
  • Berk CAT
  • K&N FIPK Intake
  • Greddy e-Manage/Boomslang harness/Karcepts AP2 tune
  • SPC Offset front upper balljoint
  • Enkei PF01 17×9 +45
  • BFG Tires 255 /40R17
  • Modified Adjustable Miata Rear Swaybar (Karcept’s prototype rear bar)

All in, teamking claims he has spent $9,626, so, replicating this setup wouldn’t exactly be cheap. Our seller also notes that the majority of the stock parts have been retained, and will come with the car. Additionally, this 2005 AP2 has just 36,000 miles on the odometer.

So, it’s a daily-drivable S2000 that can show up to the local autocross scene and dominate, and then reliably drive home. Oh, and did we mention the asking price is just $23,000? What are you waiting for?
