Default Planning for the 2018 AS2K Dragon Event

Earlier this summer 3 Alabama S2K's and one from WV traveled to Waynesville, NC for some fun on the roads in and around the Dragon. I must say we ate at some great places during our stay. We had a blast but one of the issues with staying in one location is that have to travel out and back each day and it makes for some long days of driving. I personally don't have a problem with that but some don't like all the seat time. I've done it both ways and would like to try the moving locations for 2018. Being able to drive for part of the day and then go check out the local shopping and/or eateries would be a nice change of pace for those wanting to do that. Of course we would seat down as a whole each night for dinner. I would set up drives around the area for the whole day doing a morning and afternoon drive. This will be a task for sure but worth it for the group as a whole. Planing with take some time and hope you will take part in the next AS2K Dragon Event. I've started to layout out some routes and locations to stay, thinking that a 4 to 5 hour drive between location would be good for everyone, of course may be shorter or longer. The biggest question I have for everyone is how many days you are willing to take off to do something like this. Im thinking Wednesday through Sunday would be best. Sunday being a travel day back home. Please post up your ideas or input on this. Thanks

Cindy had a great time (as did I), she says she's willing to do 5 days.

If I'm able to go, 5 days would be ok.

I think a Wed-Sun would be perfect for me. Might end up conflicting with some travel, but I'll keep an eye out and see if I can join this time.

Ok hitting the dragon with the Spring S2000 event. Right now John Allen and John Gilmore are doing that too. As of right now I don't have any plans for going back during the summer months. Next time I'm planning on going back up there is in November with a different group. This will be the latest I have ever been up there. Told John Allen if he wanted to do a weekend in north Georgia we could do that. Doing the BMT Spring and Fall events this year so vacation time was going to be tight for road trips. Hope to see everyone at Barber for the Indy Race. Drive safe and enjoy people.

Starting a new job, don't think I can take the time off.
