You can usually pick up set of OEM shocks on ebay or in the for sale forum for around $200.

So if I wanted to run a S2000 in B Stock class for Solo, and I didn't want to get a CR, it looks like the best combo of non-CR factory parts would be the 08/09 springs combined with either 00/01 or 08/09 sways. Not that you can do that of course, but theoretically, that would be a good setup, right?

I'm not up to date on the new stock class rules since I don't run stock class anymore (and the new r-comp vs. street tire thing). Used to you could only run stock spring that came on your MY year car. You could run any damper, but had to use the stock springs. So if you had an 05 you had to use the 05 springs. That rule could be different know. Those who run stock class could chime in.

Bars were the same except you could change one. If you ran an aftermarket front sway, you had to run the stock rear sway (again same MY) or vice versa. If you are doing sway bars just bite the bullet and get a Gendron FSB. It is well worth the money and one of the biggest performance per $ you can get for the car.

I'm pretty sure the same rules still apply. So it sounds like the 08/09 cars will be the best setup from the factory (excluding CR) for events like Solo, right?

Yes,

But I'm not familar with the new stock class rules. Springs might be open now, IDK. With an adjustable FSB it is a wash on the bars. To be honest, higher end shocks can be valved to make up for the lower spring rates.
