Default Should I try and pick up a used hardtop or buy new?

Hey everyone, I just bought my first s2000 and I’m trying to find a hard top for it. Used prices seem to be all over the place and new reps are almost 3,000 shipped or more. I was wondering if I should try and hold out or just bite the bullet and pay for a new one?

I wasn’t aware that new was an option, but at $3000, new is probably your cheapest option.

If $3,000 including shipping "new reps" means "new reproductions" you should share your source.

I’ve been looking into forbidden USA and Vaikhari for oem style reproduction tops. Forbidden is by far the cheaper option but the vaikhari top is aluminum with all hardware and gaskets plus a headliner.

Don't buy a Vaikhari top. They're bad unless you're interested in having customer service tell you to make it fit by pulling it across your chest to bend the metal to the correct position. Best quality is used OEM or Mugen. Idk about the other replicas but if you're expecting good fit and minimal noise, OEM or Mugen is best bet. Everything else is a gamble.
