I've never had a car worked on by them, but I hear Speedsouth in Pelham is good. I heard about a 300hp 21psi turbo NA miata they did quite a few years back. I ended up hanging out with the owner and some of the guys at Hooters one night last year. He was showing me pictures of cars they've done. Stuff like GTRs, Vettes, that V8 Pontiac that came out a few years ago. Was very impressed with the stuff he had photos of. The guy is a driving instructor at the porsche racing school at Barber and races built tube-frame corvettes. I know that isn't a clear indicator of the shops tuning ability, but it does say something about the shop owner. He is obviously passionate about racing and I would suspect wants to have a shop that does good work.

Arthur at Trackmasters in Huntsville tuned my turbo s2k w/ Flashpro. He did a decent job but it doesn't look like they're open anymore. A coworker of mine recommends Motorvations down in Trussville. They tuned his 500 hp turbo BB6.
