Having just used this method of bleeding the air out after adding new coolant to my "S", I thought that I'd call attention to one of Billman's threads with his "tweaked procedure". I went from trying it the "old fashioned way" to trying Billman's procedure. His procedure eliminates having coolant splashing everywhere. The bleeding and coolant addition take place WITH THE ENGINE OFF! It was a much better experience.

I did that last year when I put in a new radiator. Worked very well.

Family is doing great! Looks like we will be here through May 2018 at a minimum but I should be in the burgh in April next year. Right now nothing sooner than that but these things have a way of changing.
