Default need tires

I have a 2008 S2000 and I need rear tires (245/40-17). I currently have the Potenza RE050 and would like something less expensive ($110-150 range). I don't track or auto-x the car, just looking for a good street summer tire with decent wear and good wet traction.

The new firehawk tires are really good. I have had them on for about a year now (2000 miles?) and they're good for the price!

Fit a set of 4. Our cars can have some handling quirks with mismatched tires. The RE050 tires don't wear well and tire technology passed them by years ago.

A set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires (AKA Bridgestone S-03) will run you about $425 for a set of 4 from TireRack. 215/45R17 front, 255/40R17 rear. 2008 CR size. 10mm wider in the rear. I have a set of Bridgestone S-04 tires (about $560) in the same sizes and am very happy with them. (My last set were RE-11As and I don't notice any differences in handling.)
