Spring Fling 2014
S2Kers,
Spring Fling 2014 is open for registration. For those of you who aren't familiar with this event it is put on by the Vintage Group (you have to be over 40 to join) every year in a different city. For the past few years the Vintage Group has invited a small group of pre-vints to attend and this year is no different. I've checked with the organizers and they have allowed me to extend the invite to you guys here via this post.
This year the event will take place in Harrisburg over the weekend of May 2-4. A typical weekend includes a Friday arrival with a Friday night reception, saturday breakfast, saturday drive, lunch and then a saturday night dinner and happy hour. While the participants are typically older please don't let that turn you off. They are very welcoming, are a blast to hang out with and are some of the best drivers out there. It is by FAR AND AWAY my favorite S2K event of the year.
Now please remember that we are their guests being invited to their event. It is a mature atmosphere but it is alot of fun. Please feel free to ask myself, S-Cargo, SPT-S2K, DriveAholic or RedOne2007 if you have any questions before you sign up.

Hotel price is: $129/night (The rates are good Friday through Sunday and include Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Come early and stay late)
Make sure you ask for the Spring Fling 2014 rate.
Registration pricing is: $70 for the driver and $65 passenger
Registration includes: Event magnet for the driver, Nametag and lanyard for driver and passenger, the Friday night reception and the Saturday banquet. Friendship and camaraderie are guaranteed and priceless.
Itinerary for SF 2014
Thurs 1 May
5:00-6:00: Early registration in the Lobby. Dinner on Thursday is on your own, but make sure you join the early-arrivals in the lobby after you eat. Lots of good conversation, maybe an adult beverage or two and lots of catching up.
Fri 2 May
10:00am: Rehearsal drive. If you’d like to get an early look at the Saturday drive, meet in the lobby at 9:45. This is a casual drive at a non-spirited rate. Bring your FRS radio and be sure it’s tuned to channel 4.
3:00 to 6:00: Registration - Hospitality Suite
Interesting and Fun things to do on Friday: Hershey Park, Lancaster (~35 mi. from hotel) “Dutch” country is around the entire area (maybe a visit to Intercourse or Blue Ball or Bird-in-Hand), tour the Harley factory in York, or perhaps a tour of scenic Three Mile Island (Geiger counter optional)
6:00-8:30pm: The reception on Friday night: A chance to get together with old friends, catch up on past events, and discover new friends. There will be a cash bar for those wanting an adult beverage as well as soft drinks and other imbibables. Munchies and lot's of conversations, and friendly people.
Friday dinner on your own
Sat 3 May
Breakfast on you own. (Breakfast is included in the room rate)
8:30am: Drivers meeting: Hospitality suite. Please remember to bring your FRS/GMRS radios. The official Spring Fling FRS Radio channel is CHANNEL 4.
9:00-12:00: The Saturday Drive: We’ll leave the hotel and explore some great PA roads and scenery. There will be both spirited and not so spirited groups. We’ll try to accommodate everyone’s driving style. And if all that great scenery and curvy driving isn’t enough, at the end of the drive, you can have lunch at the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) museum and then have a dedicated tour guide and special tour of the museum just for us, OR you can take the afternoon to yourself and visit one the local attractions or just chill.
6:30-9:00: The Banquet at the hotel. Once again there will be a cash bar for the social hour before dinner. Adult beverages, general merry-making, and rehashing the events of the day will follow dinner.
Sun 4 May
Breakfast (included) and then lot’s of good-byes and the drive home or hang out and tour the area. If you're leaving today, we hope you had a good time and we look forward to seeing you at Spring Fling 2015.

Let's get some action in here and make sure we have a good turn out from Allegheny! I went ahead and pinned the thread to keep it visable. Also added an RSVP list to the first post.

Signed up today! We are going down early on Thursday just to get the feel of things. Most of you are probably going on Friday but we will be looking forward to seeing all of you whenever you arrive.
