Eirk - Here's a not working search update:

I started a thread in July in the UK forum. It's titled 'I'm coming to visit'.

If I search 'visit' started by 'heyitsgary', dates from October 2006 to October 2007, Search Topic Titles, search all forums... I get back:

ZERO RESULTS

If I use posts instead of topics, I get back two posts in two threads that are correct.

I guess there's still some tweaking to do?

The search is a welcome change.

if I could, the old (V2 S2ki) has a search that you could limit the results by user. I miss that.

Yes, there is still tweaking to do. I wanted to get it up and running so people could experience it. I'm sure there are some issues with the indexes and I'm sure there are additional things people want out of it and didn't put in the first go.

This latest update was really about one thing and that was getting the system to a point where I could work on it efficiently. The way it was before was a nightmare and I couldn't really touch anything without breaking something else or the whole site. Now I can make changes, test them, and release them quickly. The search part was really just a test of the deployment system.

I'll be going over the search stuff in detail to flush out issues, speed it up, make it more accurate and offer additional search options (hey wouldn't it be nice to be able to search PMs??). We've got something I can finally work with now. I wanted to make sure the thing really worked as well as advertised and that you guys would be happy with it. Now that it seems to pass the test I can make an investment in it.

I think the only flaw that the new Search has is that it does not support greek fonts so far. Tried it but with no results.

^Apart from that is excellent!

so far no luck. date ranges don't seem to work. I tested it w/ a "OEM hardtop" search and nothing especially since I know a memebr is selling one on 10/12.

I reindexed everything and made a few tweaks. Try again.
