Default Offline Time on Sat Nov 13th

We are going to be moving some computers around at the datacenter on Saturday and that will take the site offline for a bit. We are also getting a new IP address block so that will need some reconfiguring.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We won't keep the site offline for a second longer than necessary!

Glad we're back! How'd the change go?

The move never happened. I couldn't get the planets to align to get it done on Saturday. The changes are logically stupid but our ISP/datacenter is insisting it be done this way. We are trying to talk them out of it.

If the move happens, it will be in the next 24 hours. Hopefully, our ISP will see the stupidity of their request.

Basically, we are changing the name on our account with them, they want to provision a different rack and IP block under the new name rather than just switch our current cabinet and IP block to the new account name. The name change is put the account in s2ki's name rather than the name of the person we have been sharing the rack with. They are leaving, we are staying. I just want them to bill me rather than them.

Why a new IP block and a move 50ft to a different rack two rows over? I have no idea but they insist it's the only way

We'll see what happens.
