When I lived in Vegas many years ago, I followed a buddy of mine to a pretty scary road east of the 95 somewhere between Laughlin and Boulder City. I just remember exiting the 95 heading east on a long straight road then his taillights were gone.
It was my first "canyon run", it was pitch black outside, and scary as hell! It was basically a series of tight switchbacks then the road just ended to an overlook of the river. It was a blast!

Make sure you see the Hoover Dam, the road going down and coming out is fun but be prepared to get pulled over if you're speeding. I know, I know that takes the fun out of it but don't say I didn't warn you

Look into Oatman, it is a old mining town around the area you are looking. Took my subie up there a few times when i was visiting my grandparents it is a good drive lots of switchbacks. I believe the good route is coming through kingman and heading up that way, the other way involves going through Laughlin which is quite boring if i remember correctly. Just zoom in on the link below and you will see plenty of curvy goodness.
