Unhappy BOOST HELP!

So I may have found the deal of the century. I found an SOS supercharger for sale in Flagstaff. The guy said that it had roughly 15,000 on it, and he is letting go of it for $2,500. It's coming off an 07 AP2. He said that there was nothing wrong with it and it ran perfect when it was on the car. He will even throw in the 07 AP2 ECU tuned by UMS. My questions are...

1. How do I determine if it's in good shape? What red flags do I look for?

2. Will this work on my 04 AP2 if it's coming out of an 07 AP2?

3. How long is the life of a supercharger?

4. What other questions should I ask the seller?

5. How much would it be to install? Wade?

I think it's a good deal, but I DO NOT know anything about superchargers. I was going to get one this summer from SOS, but I would have to pay double the price. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, see you guys this Saturday.

My main concern would be the 07 to 04 compatibility - I don't know how it works with the drive by wire throttle system~...?

Still though... siiicccckkkk deal.

I think most of the components swap over. I doubt the ecu will work so you'd need some kind of management system.

+1. The ECU is basically useless since you would need a complete DBW conversion to use it. Just make sure you have a complete kit, most of the time people don't bother swapping out the fuel pump. It's a fairly cheap part though.

+2 on the ECU. You would have to replace a TON of components to make it compatible with a non-DBW S2000. The emission controls are different, the whole fuel system is different, ABS system, VSA, everything would need to be transplanted as a whole system into your '04.

However, it would fit perfect in my 06.

True, you can always resell the ECU if it is included. You would need to pick this up, contact SOS to see if they would sell it separate from the complete kit:

Fuel Management System (2000-05)

"The ScienceofSpeed Supercharger system includes a robust fuel management system. The system includes the ScienceofSpeed FVM (fuel/VTEC/MAP) Controller which allows electronic control of the fuel injectors to supply the required amount of fuel for the increased power, lowering of the VTEC engagement system for a smooth powerband, and MAP control. Also included in the system is a fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump. The systems offers a capacity over head to allow adjustment for cars producing more horsepower from free flowing aftermarket headers and exhaust."

I'd also ask if the blower is the SL (self lubricated) version. I have heard of these having bearing issues even with a low amount of miles on them. Visually, you aren't going to be able to see much. I'd estimate $1k on the SOS install but they can give you an exact quote.

I would call SOS. They will be able to tell you exactly what's different.

I'm assuming he has a Hondata FlashPro'd ECU which is odd for him to let go because he'd need it falshed back to stock to run his car (immobilizer). I would suggest to let him keep it and knock something off the price for that.

As far as the rest of the system, I can't think of any parts (brackets, etc.) that would be different.

There is a possibility that he has two ECU's or he is thinking of swapping. My ECU was swapped for Chris's. You would have to have the immobilizer (?) swapped at a dealership. The dealership does charge for the swap.
