Default Dealership Scratched My Hood

So just got off the phone with the dealership, and while changing my oil on the lift, they scratched my hood. Bad enough to require the hood to be re-painted. They said they would blend the paint as needed. Should I demand that they repaint the whole front end, to eliminate any possibility of the paint fading at different rates, and not matching perfectly? I am not totally pissed, but I want to make sure that its done right the first time, and there are no effects that arise later down the road. What would you do?

Id say have them blend and see how it works. Depending on how bad the scratch is, it should be an easy fix.

Yea that is what they said they would do. I guess im skeptical living in the desert, that the fenders, hood, and bumper will age differently and not match down the road.

They wouldn't paint anything else. Just blend the hood. They will only fix what they damaged. Good thing they are fixing it for you.

Im not sure down the road will be an issue. Id be more worried about how well they blend it. That being said, have em give it a shot and if you arent 100% satisfied then take it to the next step.

Ok thanks guys. Seems everytime I trust someone else with any of my cars, they damage and or break something. Last time it was Subaru denting my drunk, the would only pop the dent, and there was always a crease still visible.

Guess ya gotta do everything your self these days...I was just tired of doing all my fluids....

I know the feeling. I took my first s2000 to Les Schwab tire Co (when I lived in UT) and the tech took it out to 'test' it. Long story short, he raced another car down the road, spun it out, and totalled it.

I would recommend getting your insurance involved......just in case it becomes a issue at a later point and you want to make a claim.
