Default Glove box lid

I was trying to see if the glove box lid can be removed without taking out the whole glove box ?

Anyone try this or know if it can be done. I was trying to pull on the lid but didn't want to break anything.

Thanks,

The sliding console lid cannot be taken out without removing the entire deck.
Trust me, I've taken that apart to fix the pull-back spring. It is quite easy and if you know how to take off door panels to do speakers, then you can pull up the console. Just a few snaps and that's it.
(I assume your "glove box" is the transmission shaft console.)

If you're talking about the elbow glove box, there is no easy way. You have to remove the soft top tray to get to the main two bolts back there.

How did you fix the spring. I bought a ap2 center console for my ap1 off ebay and it didn't come with this spring. Any suggestions on what to use.

I just re-attached the spring to the sliding door. Unfortunately, the damned spring re-unattached in a couple months again. It looks like I'll have to get Tim Allen on it and make "improvements".
