Default Singapore S2ks

Geographically and culturally different.
Currently there isn't a subforum for us SE Asian S2ks. Thought this would be the closest. Some of us have JDM rides as well.

Was wondering how many of us Singaporean owners are on the forum. If there is a critical mass would the guys on S2ki allow us a subforum.

1) terch, 2007 GPW JDM AP2 S2k. Mugen FRP HT

If you need to find me, you know where I can be seen

Hey all, a bit off-topic but I'm moving to Singapore in a few months and I have an S2000 back home. I'd love to bring my ride with me but I'm weighing a couple of options:

1. Import my current car. Unfortunately, the authorities won't (officially) let me bring in a left hand drive vehicle for as long as I plan on staying (about 2 years) and I really don't feel like paying the CoE for a used car anyway but this may be the cheapest overall route.

2. Buy a new S in town. This is incredibly expensive from what I've researched, something like US$100k. I'd rather spend that kind of money on a Ferrari in the States.

3. Import a new S2000 from Japan. I'm thinking that might be a lot cheaper than buying a new S2000 from Kah Motors but I'm not sure how easy it is to get a new car from Japan to Singapore. I'm really leaning toward this as it's already right hand drive, it's possible to bring it home and, come on, it's JDM!

Can anyone help me out?

Your best bet is to get one 2nd hand:

there have been some s2ks available on sgcarmart.com recently, a moonrock AP2 and a GPW AP2.

Keep looking....

BTW a JDM s2k is now going for less than US$100k, besides you can get a prorated amount back if you deregister it.

Wow.... I didnt know you guys existed here hAHAHAHAH
Hi all
Jon

Davis2k, if you are moving here, please do give us a shout when you are here.
It'd be easier for us to talk to you and find out whats your best option. Importing your car is going to be pretty hard as you've already found out.
Believe the LHD limit is 1 year here.

Getting a brand new one is going to cost you still an arm and a leg. around 70k USD thereabouts. You can buy 2 of them back in the states!

We are a lively bunch and would love to meet you!

Cheers and give us a shout when your here!

$100k? Hmm, that's a bit out of my price range but, wow, Singaporeans sure have a lot of money spend on their cars I'll post back when I get into town, thanks for the help everyone!
