How about the F1 finale?

I only caugth the last lap of the race (forgot to tape it) but could not believe my eyes. Hamilton finishing far behind and loosing the championship to Kimi by ONE POINT!!

Sure sounds like Hamilton choked... from 1st row to 18th place in a couple of laps through driver error.....

He had a great season though. Can't take that away from him.

yeah , what a way for the F1 championship to finish !!!

Hamilton blew it in the last 2 races IMO. But then again , its his rookie season  , i can see him being a future world champ . The "Tiger Woods" of F1 they are already calling him.

Kimi cracks me up , hes so talented and yet , hes got the personality of a door knob.

[Generaliser]Fins are very interesting people and very different to Australians in some ways. If a fin doesn't know you, they won't say boo to you. Unless they're drunk :p This is especially the case when you're the conversation is in english as they don't like putting themselves out there.

Get to know them and they're a lot of fun though. I spent a month in finland staying with friends and strangers and it was wild!

It wasn't driver error that pushed him back to 18th. Driver error may have contributed to him dropping to 8th place on the first lap when Kimi hesitated and caused Hamilton to brake suddenly, letting Alonso push through and almost made contact with him. A bit of anger probably caused Hamilton to steer wide and go off the track. He could have still won from there but a transmission/engine problem a few laps later caused Hamilton to lose all engine power several laps later which saw him drop to 18th. He clawed back to 7th but sadly wasn't enough. I wanted to watch the whole race but couldn't stay up.

The latest twist is that they are going to appeal the no penalty for BMW and Williams. If successful then Hamilton is the champ.

They way I see it, even though I don't understand completely the whole "hot fuel" bit, is that those two teams broke the rules and should be penalized according to the rules.

RedRover 10-23-2007 12:30 AM

What exactly is the advantage of having the fuel more than 10c cooler than standard? Does it give more power or does it allow you to squeeze more into the tank?

How do the stewards know what temperature the fuel was at the moment it went into the tank anyway? If they measure it on the grid shouldn't they call for a penalty during the race?

TAAXED 10-23-2007 03:01 AM

I presume it would do both, fuel is denser when it's cooler, I guess they decided it wasn't going to make that much of a difference anyway.
