do you know much about this flag marshall license business?

You don't need it for the Alfa day even though they'd preffer that you had it. ie. I don't have one, and have done 6+ track days with them over the last 2 or 3 years.

Though, if you want to be certain, and/or find out how/where to get the flag marshalls license, then e-mail Neil (from AROCA) on compsec@alfaclubvic.org.au and he'll answer all your questions.

ps. Have you been to PI before?

Ah ok, that's alright then...I might shoot him an email in that case.

No I haven't been before...I've only ever been to the Island to watch the penguins a LONG time ago haha..

To be honest I am a bit intimidated by it all...but everyone keeps telling me I need to go there, especially Carl from CRS. I'm just hoping that after a few laps I'll realise there's nothing to it...(but I'm guessing its not the case)

I am also keen to try out Sandown too

In that case case you should be fine. IMHO, you should always feel 'intimidated' at PI as that ways you keep yourself in check. It's when you start thinking that there's not much to it when you get in trouble.

Still, don't let me intimidate you. While driving within the limits, it's one of the best tracks one can visit ... and the way it flows is just awesome.

I take it that you have not been there either? I don't know of any club days there before Feb (ie. wiuth HSV club). There should be some other/drive training days though before that.

I've only been there to watch this Southern BMW trackday a few months ago...quite a lot of crashes that day, especially this one M3 and one car also rolled as well. But ah yes more interested in hitting up P.I. the way the Alfa club runs it with instructors and a familiarisation practice session sounds like a good way to go.
