Default Aftermarket axle/cv shafts

I done a cv for the 2nd time after replacing the first with an eBay special. I priced oem ones from Honda but nearly had a heart attach after hearing the quote. Is there a decent after market brand that will last more than 6 months or should I just fork out the money to Honda? Thank guys

Or would getting the cv sent away and rebuilt be worth the extra $100 compared to buying off eBay?

When a CV goes it is just the tripod cracking.

If you buy a secondhand axle you can just swap out the tripod but it won't be any stronger than OEM (but probably a lot cheaper).

If you want an upgrade there are some high end aftermarket options but be prepared to pay.

Don't know what Honda are asking for a genuine set but I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than these which are far stronger http://www.driveshaftshop.com/import...evel-2-9-axles

This is what I have on the inboard side of the S2000 differential in my race car. The porsche/lobro inboard joint is a 6 ball CV with plunge vs the weak tripod style joint.

As per the link in the DSS shop.

My race car has MX5 outboard hubs and different track so exact details are not that useful to an S2000.

The 6 ball inboard joints in place of the honda tripod units are the significant part of the DSS option.

I have done cv's before and I get them second hand but in excellent condition from japan $400 each which includes air freight to your door.
Off yahoo auctions.
Let me know if you need details or have them already.
