Best oils!

Yep, I'm using penrite 10w40 and haven't burnt anything yet boosted, and take it to redline every so often, approx 1.5k km's since the last change. But she's my weekend girl, never get the chance to drive her during the week

Hi All ,
Just wanted to start by saying i am new to S2ki but have been an active reader for quite a long time and i plan on buying my first S2K mid way through the year (and becoming a more active member) and i noticed you guys were using thick oil and wanted to contribute to the post by suggesting an article worth a read , even though the oil subject on many forums has been practically beat to death i think its important for everyone to start getting on board using the appropriate oil for their car.
I see you most of you guys are running 10w-40 , if i may divert you to the following article as this is definitely in my opinion worth a read.
[ http://www.supramania.com/aehaas/index-2.html ] that was initially pulled from here an old post here [ https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/875...30-weight-oil/ ]
Also @manny-S2000 , how come you are using e85 with your S2K , S2K engines are high compression last i checked and i believe the minimum RON rating is e95 according to the manual.
Feedback most welcome.
Thanks

e85 is not the octane rating but the percentage ethanol. e85 has an octane rating of 105.

Sorry I was mistaken, I'm using Penrite HPR 5w40 boosted. Best oil I've run to date. On my modified NA car, I've used castrol edge 5w30, Mobil 1 and nulon 10w40. The Castrol and Mobil had to be topped up every 5-700kms (about 2 'X'
marks down the dip stick), the nulon less often at about every 1000. In respect of the Penrite oil, I've put about 1500kms on the clock, it's still sitting perfectly level at the high point.

i ended up purchasing:
Penrite 10 Tenths Racing 5w30
Penrite transgear 75w90
Honda MTF 06
so far so good!
the chap at the shop said if your car hasn't hit 180,000+ kms, then it's fine for you to use a 5w30 oil, otherwise go for a 10w40. is he correct?

I have been told the same thing by a well known shop, so I am going to give the Penrite 10 Tenths Racing 10 - 10W-40 a go. I am on 178.800km.

I'm also doing filter and oil changes every 6 months or 3 track events (which ever come first).
