Default Dealers can't get enough S2000s?

My Honda dealer (biggest on the Gold Coast) was telling me this morning there is a 3 month waiting list to get their hands on new stock. They had none at all on the lot and asked me if I knew anyone with cars for sale to let them know as they have prestige car buyers looking for them.

It appears that although they might be seen more frequently on the road these days that they are still a reasonably rare car ... at least in this neck of the woods anyway.

Don't know if this is the situation elsewhere but it seems a good sign for those people who might be considering selling at present. (not me )

True! And they have been in there for quite some time now. I just hope they have them when its time for me to buy one.

There was a Red 2002 with 8 000kms for $49 990 advertised in the tradingpost.

I signed and faxed my contract to Tynans Sutherland on 3Jun. I was promised the car in 3 months, which would have made it late Aug-early Sep. A couple weeks ago Tynans told me the car would be in in late Oct. I dunno if they deliberately lied to me, or whether the factory delayed the shipment. Either way of course I'm pissed off.

Can they do that? Isnt that reneging on a contract? Even if it is only a verbal agreement that is still recognised AFAIK so IMO you should be compensated with some extras or extended warranty if not for legal reasons just to smooth over the deal. What do you think that they'd say if you told them the cheque is taking a little longer than expected?

They should be able to give you the build order number. That is what I got for my S when I ordered straight from the factory back in Jan 03. You can then ask them to check on the build order number....

It sounds like they found someone else who was willing to pay more and gave them your car. i say this because the S2000 is allocated to a particular dealership before it is built. Once the car is allocated it can be allocated to another dealership but it usually involves the first dealership's consent or acknowledgement.

On the other hand, I can see what I can do at the Smart Dealership to get you into a roadster faster than Oct...

I haven't seen a single 2004 model on the street yet. Although I've noticed more older models popping up, and 4 out of 5 times they are silver. On the subject of car spotting, I was in Chapel Street on Sunday night and admidst all the mobile neon, chrome, and plastic cruising down, I saw an immaculate red Ferrari 550, and a yellow 355 Sypder parked outside a cafe. Littered around them were various Ducattis as well. My friend also saw a Gallardo in the area as well. This is where the money's at....

If I had to guess, it was in front of Caffee Siena. It's owned by 3 - 4 guys and each one of them has a Ferrari ... so there's at least one of them there.
