Default Difficult to start when the engine is hot?!

Hi guys, I am experiencing some weird symptom of my car lately.

When I start the car in the morning it would be perfectly fine, every morning I have no problem starting my car.

However, when my car (engine) is hot, for example after I drove the car for a while and turn it off to grab some food, when I come back to start the car, the car would not start!!

Basically you could hear the click and click as if the car was struggling.. But if I wait for like 20 mins, it would start with no problem at all. It has happend few times already.

Anybody experienced that before?

Click, click, click?

Is the starter cranking the motor?

If not I expect your battery is on it's last legs. Get it tested and possibly replaced by an autoelectrician.

Yep. Batteries work better when cold.

Hang on, so it's not a clicking solenoid. The starter is cranking the engine. Forget everything I said.

The alternator could be overcharging the battery. The battery bubbles like mad and wont deliver good cranking current till the battery settles.

I would also check the water level and make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. They need to be clean where they contact the terminals so take them off to check for corrosion or burning.
